Mullins Teardrop

Postby ceebow » Wed Mar 09, 2011 7:30 pm

Looking for help/information.

Think I own a '34 (maybe '35 or '36) Mullins teardrop. How can I tell for sure?

I can be contacted via e-mail [email protected]

Thanks

Is it a camper trailer, or the little cargo Mullins trailer that was sorta like the trunk of a car? I thought the cargo Mullins were only made around 1937 to 39, but I'm certainly no expert on them. We did meet a couple from Maine a few years ago who own one, the cargo version that is. Bob

It is a camping trailer with access door on curb side and a small window opposite. There is a full width access door at the rear with a "preparation area", sliding doors on overhead cabinets and a stainless-lined ice box area with copper tube to allow water to drip out the bottom.

A friend of mine who is kind of knowledgeable about cars says the suspension is a model A Ford front axle unit mounted backwards.

If you have a photo you can post folks may be able to ID it quicker for you. There are alot of people on here with an eye for old trailers. Check the menu above if you need help getting pics posted. Good luck figuring it out. It sounds neat!

By the way... Welcome to the forum!

Yep, photos would be nice. I didn't know that Mullins built teardrops back in the 30's. But you never know. You never know what someone is going to call something on Craigslist to get more people to look and buy.

I understand. I'll try to get pictures this weekend ( I have the unit in my garage located about 10 miles from here). It looks "exactly" like the one behind the very nice Ford.

I appreciate you folks helping me.
