New floor / wall attachment idea?

Postby kah » Mon Mar 14, 2011 11:59 pm

Hi all, I have read many many posts and think I am ready. I have my trailer built, painted and floor attached directly to the frame. My question is, to mount the wall to the floor I plan to PL and screw an aluminum u channel to the floor then set the 3/4 wall in the U then PL and screw. Do you see any reason this will not be stong enough?

Thanks

Image to the playground....Now you need to remember to post lots of pictures cause we need them to feed the answer machine.. 8) ;)

My initial thought was it will collect water and the walls will suck it up. I put al. angle upside down on mine because I was afraid the screws would pull out. :? We also have those who put the aluminum channel on the inside and screw the side to it....It really is up to the builder but an extra expense that is probably not worth the effort! JMO

Thanks for the pictures that method will look better on the outside wall. As for sealing the walls I will be using multiple coats of spar urethane. The wall will be on top of the floor with PL under it does it need urethane on the bottom or should I use glue on the bottom and pl on the side?
