New to this board!

I am a single lady (age 58) with a few more years of work before retirement. It is my dream to travel when that time comes. I have 2 sons, ages 38 & 19, a dear daughter-in-law, 2 of the cutest grandkids in the world and 2 dogs: Dudley, a 9 year old Shih Tzu and Gracie, a 5 mo. old standard poodle.

When my youngest son was around 7 we camped at Walt Disney World's Fort Wilderness in a dome tent. We camped there a couple of times. It gave me a chance to brush up on my former girl scout skills and I loved it!

Since I am by myself, (I might have a dog with me) I was thinking a teardrop would be the perfect size camper for me. I have just started my research and I think this will be the perfect place to find information.

I'm glad I found this web site!

Welcome Cindy ! We're not in the same neck of the woods, but rest assured that there are plenty of single camping ladies out there , and on this forum and we've all had some fun with our teardrops.

Whether you buy one or make one yourself, I think you'll really enjoy it !

Welcome, Cindy! You're fortunate in that there are manufacturers in Ohio. In fact our beloved Lil Traveler was made there (Pleasant Valley Trailers). Good luck! Sounds very do-able! If you come to some gatherings, you'll get valuable pointers. And if you use the search link up top you can get to all kinds of valuable info (e.g., how to back it up).

Welcome, Cindy. A teardrop is perfect for a single woman traveler. Many on the board do so. We are way out here in the west, but my husband is from NE Ohio, Hartville to be specific. Lil Guy and their now subsidiary is made in the NE too. Canton and down south a little in Amish country for the little traveler. Have fun search for your perfect trailer.

Welcome to the forum.

I am single, and 58, and travel with my 2 dogs in my Silver Shadow by Little Guy. The size and ease of handling the teardrop was exactly what I needed for me to continue my camping. I've given up on tent camping, and sold my pop-up because it was getting to be difficult to set up.

If you are on Facebook, check on my friend, Alison's, page for women campers.

Welcome from the west side of the state. I will be the first to suggset that you join Tearjerkers (see link at top of page) and come to some of the Buckeye gatherings. This will give you a chance to see what is available (I think the first gathering is in Sandusky?) and we WILL be there. there are two tear drop manufacturers in Ohio LittleGuy and Lefty Origionals in Toledo which builds custom trailers for not much more than a Little Guy.

Welcome, Cindy!

I have noticed that there are many single women who find Teardrops interesting - as well they should! They are light-weight, easy to tow and safe and secure. If you like the outdoors, they are perfect! Easy to KEEP the focus outdoors while getting a good night's sleep and always having your get-a-way ready to roll!

Hope you find what you're looking for! I recently moved to Florida and am wanting to build around five/year to sell if you're interested. I've had one for the past four years and don't ever want to be without! Both of the ones in my Album are for sale and as soon as they are sold I'll be starting on the next :o) I'm "home" again helping out the parents and needed something to do - lol Since I believe in them so much, I figured I'm build and enjoy and hopefully be able to make them more available to people who "get it"! WELCOME!
