Coleman Globe

Postby elad » Thu Mar 24, 2011 7:45 am

The guy at the local RV repair place gave me a box of mostly gaslight parts, nose burners, washers etc. He says he'll never use them and he knows I actually like my gaslight , icebox and other "old" stuff. In the box is a Coleman Globe that I will give to anyone who may be able to use it. It is 4 3/16" high.
3 1/2" outside diameter at the top and bottom. Bulges out to about 4 1/2" in the middle. Says Coleman- used on 200, 201

I'll take a picture later when I find that camera..............I know it's around here somewhere..........

Okay, it's yours Tammy. I'll mail it tomorrow.

Also for anyone else, there are a couple dozen of these small gaslight gaskets. I want to keep a few but if anyone needs 1 or 2 I'll give them away. They are 1 1/2" outside diameter 1" inside. They are about 1/16" thick.

Glad you were able to find a home for the globe. It is used on most older Coleman single-mantle model lanterns...

The white gasket you've pictured is not familiar to me and is not used in most (if not all) Coleman liquid-fuel mantle lanterns.

Is the gasket merely paper? or asbestos? And when you say "gaslight", which style of gas light are you referring to? I'm only curious, and wish to broaden my knowledge as I am at this time strictly a white-gas Coleman-mantle-lantern kinda guy.

I looks to be asbestos. I think it is for a humphreys type gaslight. I haven't taken mine apart to see if it will work or not. There were other parts in the box for that type gaslight. That globe was the only Coleman piece.
