The opening of the outdoor flea market season started this weekend. I have never found so much stuff in one day without being at an auction.
Two Griswold fry pans in great shape, a #5 and a #7 with the big block logo.
Next I found a near perfect Coleman 200A. Only thing missing is the vent nut. Even came with silk mantles and the instructions in a beat up original box. Then I found a 220E (3-53) with the green sunrise globe in great shape. Also picked up a 220H (12-78) that had an original red Pyrex globe I will put in my Doug Hodder lantern. Last thing on Saturday I found an unused Skotch 1 Gallon jug. Seemed just the right size for Margaritas at a gathering
While shopping the guy with the 220E also had this Sears lantern. I was not familiar with it and passed on it, Saturday night I did some searching around and could not find anything. But it was gnawing at me so I went back today and picked it up. The model number is 710-7402. The vent is burgandy and the font is chrome. It's overall condition is real good. Just a couple of nicks in the vent and the globe has a rim chip that does not show. This one I could use some help with if anyone knows what it is please let me know. The closest thing I could find was it looked like a Coleman 236. Could Coleman have made it for Sears. With this and all the cast iron my wife found me this week I believe I just had my best week ever!

What can I say????? I'm jealous dude!!! Very nice finds indeed. Love the Sears and the Scotch jug is in great condition. I gotta get out of the garage! Just my rule of thumb....if it's kinda odd and old in design and you haven't seen one before GET IT...unless it's just stupidly priced. Doug

Doug ,I believe what you say. That is what made me go back and get the Sears. Next time maybe I will not hesitate. I know the time to buy an Antique is when you see it ,I just could not pull the trigger . Plus you know nothing I buy is that much money. I love a bargain and I love the hunt.

Dawn, I look forward to filling that jug and trying it out. I remember my parents having a Skotch Cooler when I was a kid. It was well worn when they tossed it out. I wish I knew how many gallons of beer went through it in it's life!

That Sears lantern was made by American Gas Machine co. They are good lanterns. I have a couple including a kerosene model. Great Find!

Skotch stuff is really cool....I"ve got an unfired Skotch BBQ! A couple of coolers, picnic container with handles...even some of the small freezer cans of reusable liquid. Skotch camping and picnic items were first designed in 1952 by Petra Cabot and if you were a kid in the 50's...you probably used some of it if your family did outdoor stuff. She also worked for Russell Wright, who did up a lot of the melmac dish designs also and Russell Wright stuff is what you want! A real slice out of Mid Century design. Doug

WOW, great scores! I like every one, especially the Sears/AGM and the 200A. That sure looks like a burgundy in the pic, what's the date on it? That would make it even better. Congrats on a great weekend!

Steve, you sure hit the jackpot. Love the burgandy tank on the 200A. I'm still waiting for the lightly used 200A to come along. Great finds!!

Thanks for all the history guys. I did not know Russel Wright had anything to do with the Skotch stuff. I have had owned some of the dishes over the years.

Mark, thanks for letting know who made the Sears.

The Sears does have a Burgandy vent. But the 200A is a red base. It just photographed darker ,Tom. I am still fighting with a 200A that I can not get to light. It holds pressure but won't let the fuel out the generator except when I rotate the tip cleaner. But I am getting good at taking it apart!

Steve, Have you took the generator apart and cleaned it yet? when I am having that problem I remove the genny then take the asbestos tube out and soak the rest of it in my carburetor cleaning tank over night, flush it out with spray choke and carb cleaner and finish with a little compressed air before reassembling. All of them that have given me that trouble were clogged with old fuel and carbon deposits.

The generator is new. There was some rust in the tank when I repainted it. I kept flushing the tank with fuel. Pouring it into a white cup through a fine paint strainer. I did this over several days, letting is soak till no rust was found. I even poured it through a thick napkin to catch the smallest stuff. I will take it apart and try it your way just to see if something got caught up inside while trying to light it.
