Squidget

Postby Keith.B.Nimble » Wed Mar 30, 2011 3:21 pm

I am looking for pictures to completed Squidgets. Specifically of the squidget still attached to the tow vehicle. I am trying to get some ideas of paint/finish and size comparisons to a SUV (I drive a Chevy Trailblazer).

If you have one I would also LOVE to hear any feedback, good or bad.

No pictures or feedback?

Maybe I'll just wait till he finishes his new Pop Top squidget and see how that comes out.

Haven't checked posts lately...been too busy working on the PT. I no longer have the Squidget, but have heard from the owner a few months ago. I don't have an email address for him, but may have the phone number store somewhere. Email me with specific questions and I'll do my best to answer them. I can ask the other two builders that sent me photos if they can be contacted by you with questions too.

Sometimes I pretend to be normal. But, that gets boring...so I go back to being me.

Dale

I appreciate the pictures. I don't currently have any questions since I have not started building yet. I am just trying to get as many pictures as possible so that I can I get ideas. Usually I look to see what everyone else has done and that gets the creative juices flowing.

I guess the only one question that I have is do you know how tall the squidget is from the surface floor to the highest outside point?

Thanks
Keith

Squidget height

Postby pigcooker » Mon Apr 04, 2011 5:51 pm

Keith, the height from the floor to the highest point, is 6ft.-2in. according to Dale's info. Open the Squidget page from Dale's post, he drew the plans and built it, all the questions you may have should be on the Squidget website.

I have a question, what are you standing next to, in your avatar?

Doug

I appreciate your reply. I am not looking for the interior height of the Squidget, I am looking for the height from the street floor to the top of the outside of the squidget, minus the dome of the fantastic fan. I know that its over 7 feet since in his FAQ it states that it can be modified to fit into a 7' garage door.

In my avatar I am standing next to a home built Powered Paraglider (PPG). It is my primary hobby. A PPG is a personal flying vehicle. No license required. Here are a couple of websites to help.

This is the main reason I am trying to build some kind of Tiny Travel Trailer. So that I can use it to go to fly ins.

Keith,
Thanks for the cool videos, and access to the plans. I don't think I will build one though, it took me 2 weeks to get used to going up the ladder on the redi-mix truck I used to drive.
I guess the Squidget height would have to be determined by the trailer you put the body on, you may just have to purchase Dale's plan to see the modifications.
Good Luck with whatever you decide to build.

Keith
way back in the late 60's we built a regallo wing (spelling doesn't count.)

We pulled it behind a car did a few launchs but we did more crashes.

the airport was family owned and one son had a skydiving club.

that was before anyone had parasails or steerable chutes.

mostly old round ones were used.

I never did skydive but I did haul them up and kick them out nothing like 3 people hanging on a wing strut to make flying interesting.

Believe it or not hanging on a wing strut sounds fun to me.

My biggest thrill comes from flying low. Flying in between trees is lots of fun. My average speed is around 23mph so I get plenty of reaction time. It's really safe as long as you don't start doing stunts. I fly mainly for sight seeing.
