Woodbutcher's luck rubbed off

Postby TLC » Wed Apr 06, 2011 9:21 pm

Today I found a brand new 1/83 clamshell Coleman lantern case on CL.
I was lucky enough to be the first responder to show up.

I almost forgot to mention......inside was a brand new, never used, never fueled GREEN 200A made in 11/82.

I couldn't believe my luck. I'm going to pair it up with the 502 (unused) I found a couple years ago.

Steve take note, mine is complete WITH a ball nut!!

Nice going Tom! I am humbled. Did you know the lantern was in there before you got to the guys house? Or was it a surprise. Your eyes must have bugged out!

Nice job for sure, and with a vent nut and all.... :applause: :applause:

Shaun:
It's my best score so far. I'm a happy camper. :)

Steve:
Yep, I knew it was there before I went to pick it up. My worry was that he'd sell it before I got there.

Holy cow! That is truly an awesome find! Congratulations, Tom! ...and displayed as you mentioned w/ a mint 502 should look wonderful.

I'm a lil' bit envious! but not too much. Have I mentioned lately that I have enough lanterns? Lawls.

Seems we all keep finding these little treasures. Can you imagine how much is still out there waiting to be renewed and used again? What a great hobby.

Tom, I guess I now have to expand my shopping radius to include Kenosha. You are making it hard on me. Kidding aside that is a great find!

You seem to be doing just fine there south of the border. But check dobyman's personal album. Like you he seems to find the really good stuff. (I took him under my wing and led him in the right direction) :worship:
