Can't find luan 1/8 inch ply

Postby Burro » Thu Apr 07, 2011 9:35 pm

Has anyone used hard board or paneling under their aluminum in place of Luan. Has anyone used the plastic paneling that is about an 1/8 inch? I searched the local lumber yards and the big box stores with no luck.

Not sure what resources you have in CR but here 1/8 Baltic Birch is plentyful and not expensive.

Maybe these folks can point you in the right direction if your local lumber yards can't.

There are lots of disadvantages to living in So. Cal. but one of the isn't a lack of suppliers locally.

Don't bother with the big box stores, you'll have to go to a place that specializes in lumber and plywood. But yes people have used hardboard aka. masonite.
