General Discussion about almost anything Teardrop or camping related

Look what followed me home last week.

Have been looking for a small trailer since my build effort stalled last fall. Found this little trailer and dragged it home. It is not perfect but not bad for a 33 year old trailer. New tires and rims, Electric brakes work, Floors are solid ready to camp condition, clear title. This will put an end to cranking up the old Jayco. I still do not want to give up on finishing a home built trailer. It will take me longer but I will get it done sooner or later. Hope to get it out a couple of times even with the high gas prices. Someone will have to pull it out of my album for me, I can get it there, but cannot imbed one in a post. Bill

Thanks for putting the picture on. It is 14'-6" Ball to bumper and the body is About 12'. It will take the cranking out of Campin! Bill

I have added interior pics to my album. Trailer is in fair to good shape, roof has been sealed and re sealed a couple of times, Plastic tail light bases are age cracked and tail lights need to be replaced. They work but are cracked. Does anyone have a supply source for the bases for taillights? Would really like to replace them and caulk them real nice.
Floors are solid paneling has some water damage in a couple of spots but walls are real solid, not bowed. so it has leaked in the past. No signs of water damage around either roof hatch which is where I usually see it. I will be recoating the roof soon. I hope to get her out on the road leaving Easter Sunday Afternoon for a rock hunting trip with my 9 year old son.
Have a busy day tomorrow getting her ready. Thanks Bill

Looks like a real nice trailer Bill. You should be very happy with it. Plus it should be big enough to fill with some quality rocks!

Shasta Camper

Postby Wild Bill » Sun Apr 10, 2011 8:47 pm

Been busy this weekend, cleaned and resealed the roof, Ordered new tail lights and bases from E-trailer in Mo. Rebuilt the front Couch/bed, It seemed flimsy to me, Made it wider and stronger (heavier too) Am going to swap out the two 30 gallon tanks for two 20 gals that I have, who needs 60 gallons of propane all at once?!!! We might use that much with the Boy scout troop but not just 3 of us. Pull and Repack the bearings, or at least check them, the previous owner said he just had it done last year. I would still like a look at the brake shoes etc. Taking off in it for a week, leaving Easter Sunday. The picture I am currently using was taken at the Public Library in Paris Tenn. My mom was born there and I was there doing some family history research and doing a cemetary visit. The Stuffed Beaver was in the Kids area. I never miss an opportunity to get a beaver shot! :) Now get out there everyone and scratch that camping itch!! Bill

How much does Daisy weigh? (or is it impolite to ask a ladys weight)?
