 :applause:  About those pictures? Anything I can do to help :worship: I do hope you enjoy your camping trip. Be sure with the rattle that your safety chains are not banging around or the coupler latch isn't popping up some. A lock, bolt, s-hook or something will keep this from happening.

Oh and check your U-bolts carefully! ;)

Poor eagle is on a crippled computer and can't post picts.

*If* it's the chains rattling, I found twisting them together to take out the slack works great.

Good point about the coupler adjustment. Forgot completely about that and it could be the culprit.

thanks miriam. but its the computers i have to work with. my good one crashed. so i am using an old one that is barely holding on.

i have been pushing the hints about a fixed puter to hubby like crazy. i just got done yelling about this one. i can't even get to my email on this one. well at least i could not this morning. it seems everyday its a different site i can't get to.

hubby did say he thinks that rattling has to do maybe with that nut and perhaps the weight distribution. so he is going to work on those 2 things.

Sounds like your computer needs to have the OS wiped out and reinstalled. Start over with it. No need to buy a new one. Unless you really want to.

Eagle , I used my boat trailer one time to pick up some steel roofing for my shed ... ill fitting ball/coupler , and a rearward weight distribution .... on the way home it popped off the ball ... lucky I had some good chains on it ... scary when it happened ... :o

Want to eliminate all those computer problems .... ??? Get a Mac !! In 20 years , I only had one Mac crash (HD died) ... that's it ... I did have to replace the battery in my I book , but expected that ... Now using a Mini Mac and old view sonic monitor , left over from several unsuccessful PC attempts (PCs gave me endless trouble , even with having friends who are PC techs ... ) :x Quote the Raven ...

you know i am already having nightmares about my trailer blowing off the bridge, and now you have to put ideas into my head about it coming unhooked from the hitch!

and i have to tell you..i go thru computers like most people go thru purses, socks, undies, food  actually its not funny at all. i am sitting here with 3 of them. the good puter is only a little over 1 yr old. but none seem to get too far past that 1yr limit for me. i have one that is a hp, one is a dell and this one i am on now is the acer. going to call on the pc and see if i am still under some kind of warranty. its the monitor on that one. the lights all turn on, but the screen stays black. the caps and the numbers caps light blinks on and off. does that help anyone? not that i know anything about computers, but i do know how to post pics.

funny thing, the longest i had a working puter was a desktop by emachine. that one lastest for me 3 yrs. and here i am still barely working on the acer. the 2 cheapest computers i have around here. the 2 good expensive ones crapped out on me.
..hubby says he can fix the dell, so maybe he can play with it tonight. but i really want the hp fixed. i love that one (well not at the moment).

its not the chains rattling either. i was watching as my hubby was trying to back up but couldn't so he took off and its the tongue part, the hitch. so he needs to play with that part also. but since the govt did not shut down, he has to work today.
..i would love to post pics, but i am afraid of pushing this one too far. if this one crashes i will have to be committed. i can't stand not having a puter.

Eagle , I think you worry too much !!! the imagination is a dangerous thing ... works both ways , thinking Nice Happy thoughts or Awfulizing... :o
Thing is, not to worry , but to just proceed Cautiously ... Don't worry, be Happy !!! :D
I really doubt your trailer will be blown off the bridge ...unless it's during a hurricane , and you don't get those , so no worries eh ??? ;)

Black screen .... you might try unplugging the monitor cable , and re-plugging it in ... just an idea ... worked once for me ... those plugs corrode over time ... may just need a wiggle ...

its a laptop, is there cables?

and i am trying not to worry, but that is not my nature. i worry ahead of time and take all precautions so nothing does happen. i don't know, but its like safty first. and if you make sure safty is your priority then you usually don't have any problems. i'll just walk across the bridge and wait for hubby to meet me on the other side. NOT

Sounds like the POST (power on self test) is catching something and wont let it boot up. Does it make beeping noises? Certain beep patterns correspond to specific failures.

PM me with the computer make and model, and EXACTLY what it does when you try to turn it on. Do the lights blink in a specific pattern? Does it have long and short beeps in a pattern?

BTW... CANT WAIT FOR FRENCH CREEK!!
