exterior complete at last

Postby clems » Tue Feb 07, 2006 6:29 pm

After many days and nights of hard work I have completed the exterior and have the interior to a useable level. It looks like I will make the Little Talbot gathering even after all the heavy rains!

The plywood recieved one coat of Minwax Puritan Pine, then the spruce trim was added and coated with 3 coats of Minwax Semi-Gloss Clear Shield. I plan to add more coats of Clear Shield in the upcoming weeks.

Now All I must do is finish the interior paint, cabinets, and galley. But we plan to use it in its current state.

Its 66 5/8 inside width, 11 ft. long(extra foot gained with curve in front so effectively 12' long) and body 54" tall. The width was determined by size needed for frame to extend over wheels on HF trailer.

Right now the interior is bare, just walls and a shelf over the foot area and the galley is very basic.

So do you have wheel wells inside, or does it just go over the top of the wheels?

no wheel wells, the axle only able to move up 2 inches before bottoming out on the leaf spring holder. Similar to Dee's Zephyr build. The floor of 2x4's with 3/4 ply overhangs the wheels.
