Losing my garage

I think that I would rent a storage space temporarily. That way, you won't have to worry about your TD while you unpack and build its new shelter. I would make the shelter like BobHenry said, so that you can move it out to your land when you are ready for that.

I like the way you think Sharon, incrementally. I think I will rent a storage space month to month and keep the Teardrop (And probably a bunch of other stuff) until I get my other stuff squared away. I found a home for my cabin just 10 miles down the road from where my land will be, so moving it to the land will be alot cheaper. That's a monkey off my back.

I paid for the house today (I call it a house because I feel like it and talked to the manager who said I could not park my truck in the RV parking but I could park it up front indefinitely in the guest parking which is cool because the RV parking was $50/month. She also said it would be no problem to put the teardrop in a shed on my property, or build a lightwheight temporary shelter over it if I were to park it in the RV parking, but I think I'll save my $50/mo and just make my shed bigger as a "stealth garage" as tom mentioned, so that is cool to get that confirmation. I will need to get one of those caddys and some kind of winch system though, I don't want to be driving up into the yard.

Tom, yes it is going to feel real good when I get this out on some land and be totally mortgage free! This is step one and it is exciting to make the first move!

Solution found...

My buddy and I did as little tradin and I am giving him my Miter saw and a hundred bux and he is giving me a horseshoe bar and three bar stools for inside my house and an 8x12 wood framed storage building for the teardrop! The building was taken down from a client and is already in sections including the floor, and walls but not including the roof, but that will be easy enough. This is a real shed made of 2x4 studs! that will be a garage that will always go with the teardrop where ever it may be whether I die or I sell it (or of course while I own it)....

We got the Teardrop garage put up today! It is not all the way completed, but the big stuff is done!

Relocated it back behind the trailer. You can only have one shed so it is "stealth"...

It only took us an hour. I spent the rest of the evening blocking in the extra sections to make it 1 foot wider so the teardrop will fit with 6" room on each side. The building was originally 8x12, now it is 9x12. I added the extra section to the side in the back and I am going to cut the front section in half and make big doors out of that wall. I will fill the extra foot in the middle where the doors meet so they will be strong at the hinges. I also added extra joists right where the tires will sit since I had to go with cheaper flooring, and it is solid.

I am going to paint it the same as my trailer, a medium tan with brown trim.

I have some tan, plastic patio cover stuff that I am going to be using for the roof after I frame it in good. I think I will paint it at least tan tomorrow so it is not so much of an eyesore, that white is nasty, but this is a super strong building, and the front door opening is 7' 8" tall so if/when I change to a standy I might still be able to use it! I can always add on to it too.

Yes, I decided to face the side doors out, so yes, I will be backing in, but I doubt I will back all the way up, I will get it close and then plan to use a winch setup to pull it straight into the box Always good to know your limits LOL

Probably the final pic, maybe one with the Teardrop pulling in to cap it off after the roof is on. I painted it and cut the end wall in half and started the doors, this is the basic look of it.

rent the storage garage. you can store other rarely used stuff in it too, and even use it as a little workspace. having lived in a mobile home,,, space is your big issue anyway.

I prefer to own rather than rent, renting is expensive for most people
