Have You Named Your Trailer?

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

The Scuttlebutt

By definition, its the cask used to hold and distribute drinking water on a ship. Sailors would congregate around the cask of water and socialize.

And that's what we do at gatherings... hang around the trailer(s), enjoy some beverages, and socialize!

Named mine in reverse of the TV.

Towing with a Pontiac Aztek...thus Ketza. Tried to build the same basic shape and color scheme.

We were going to get a trailer (a TTT standy) originally. The minute I saw it I had a name for it. After we saw a tear we decided that a teardrop is more of what we want. We have had it since 2010 and still can't think of a name for it. We call it the "tear" right now, but we are in hopes of it taking on/revealing a name to us SOON! We have seriously considered "The Other Side", but... we are afraid people will think we mean to literally go to the other side of the teardrop!!! LOL

While my wife was undergoing chemotherapy I worked on the TD to keep my sanity, therefore I called it "Mental Therapy"

My Scotty girl is named "Bayou Belle". My Teardrop was "Cajun Casa".

Best I could come up with for my Generic Benroy (build in progress...she's out of hibernation) is The Lily Pad. I'm not really into frogs, I'm just an aging hippie.

Our first one was a Life Is Good theme. We traded up to a Silver Shadow
last year. I made some vinal decals, one for each season...so we had to name the new one "The Four Seasons", our version of camping luxury! 8)

Named by "camper" Uff Da Inn.

Usually call the tear the "camper" though.

Uff Da is a local scandavian phrase used to express, oh my.
Inn portion because maker is Camp Inn.

Trailer name

Postby davidw8977 » Tue May 10, 2011 11:50 pm

In October 2010 my son and I were east bound on I-90 at about mp 10. He was at the wheel. It was about 10pm. He hit one of the many pot holes in the road. There was a large pothole and a boom. I looked from the passenger seat to the driver mirror and saw: 1) sparks flying 2) the left wheel passing us rubbing on the jersey barrier as it sped by. The axle had broken at the junction of the bearing structure and the bar that made up the crossmember of the axle. A kind soul stopped after driving past us, picking up the errant wheel and turning around not once but twice to return the tire. Called a flatbed tow and was towed by Goober and Cletus to Missoula. The tow bill equalled the repair bill. Repaired with a new 2000 lb dexter axle. All is good since.

Due to the spark display it is now christened the Master of Sparks.

ZZ Top fans should know the song.

David

Mine is still in construction but has a name

Its called Tangerine Dreamer. there are several reasons behind it

1 it will be orange to match the tow vehicle (tangerine)
2 in a teardrop you "sleep my prince, perchance to dream" (Dreamer)
3 I vaguely remember a band called Tangerine Dream so the name was kind of an extension of that.

How true :)
