The more I think about this the cooler it becomes, only for cool factor though. It makes much more sense to have a traditional teardrop.

My thoughts are for 1 person... a foot wider and slightly taller. The bed would have to be transformable sorta like a fancy hospital bed in that the back comes up and the feet drop down to make a comfy chair and slides to the back... The tv against one end hooked to a pc as well with cordless mouse and keyboard within reach. Ice bucket for a bottle of wine and 1 wineglass within reach... or a modified mini refridgerator to hold your fav beverage mounted under the tv...

Drive the mobility scooter @ trailer onto a lowslung utility and haul it to the campground. When ya get home, park it in the living room in place of your easy chair. Climb in for pc/tv entertainment, shut the door, and leave the noise of family behind.

You my friend have way too much free time............ :)

Being handicapped I don't think I could get in side let alone sleep on the Full size? bed.

Well, going to several Vintage Trailer Rallies during the year and not wanting to pay the $9000 + shipping, I guess I'm just going to have to build one as my next project. Use it to carry my oxygen and a small cooler. Like has been said. It would be the ‘cool factor’ to run around different Rallies & Gatherings with it in tow.

Thinking Small

Postby Engineer Guy » Fri Apr 22, 2011 7:06 pm

The comments above suddenly caused the ole Japanese Capsule Hotels to pop into my Head. Been there [repeatedly], but have not done that. I wouldn't fit!

Search Results: Japanese Capsule Hotels

Capsule Guide

Given the very long nightly Train Rides back to any sort of affordable Housing, the Capsules popped up as alternative Urban lodging after a 'mandatory' night out w/Coworkers, night after night. Exhausting.

For the idea above behind the Barco Lounger, a starting mockup Model alternative might be a large Fridge Box. :D

How about some modifications... like.... make it electric driven as well for a pusher to help you go up hills better and carry extra batteries to give you more battery life on your scooter. My electric scooter gets about 8 miles before it poops out. (my batteries are dying though) Another couple of sets of batteries and a motor from another lil parts scooter to help push would help get you all over the place. Oxygen tank could mount as though it was a tall propane canister. :) bicycle wheels would give it good free wheeling but have your lil motor attached to the sprocket and a little potentiometer to turn when you need that extra push to get up a hill from the bathrooms or whatever. Solar panel on the roof to keep the scooter/trailer charged up while its parked.

Swap meets would be fun. Toss your goodies in the trailer until you get back to the car... Small umbrella to sit under. It sounds more and more fun. lol

Thanks, I'll remember that. I've got to finish my Field and Stream first. That should be in about two weeks and then the new start. At my age and health I've got to keep busy doing something. Just trying to extend life. ;)

Little scooter trailers

Postby Wild Bill » Tue Apr 26, 2011 8:38 pm

As small as it appears, you could just get in, lay down and turn the O2 bottle on inside like an O 2 tent. You could pull it with a golf cart too. A little putting around the links, When you get tired, you could take a short nap. Could serve lots of uses, You would need a large trailer to haul it around with.

Or maybe not.... can you see 3 of these built in the fashion of Roly's 1/4 nelson stacker made to stand up to remove a lightweight hwy frame and attach some very lightweight camp site frames to be towed individually. All in a 6' wide package that looks much like a normal teardrop, three friends that don't have the desire to be too close to eachother could have their own quarters when you get to the campsite.

Put them side by side and reattach the hwy frame when your ready to leave. :SG

Or, sleeping quarters for 2 and the middle one becomes a bathroom w/portapotty and tub. Or a seperate galley Lots of possibilities for something this small.

Take along a friend you don't care to sleep close to.... Then like Roly's Stacker, tip them up, and unload them from the frame and seperate them onto their own lightweight frames to be pulled by golfcarts, go-carts, mobility scooters, mopeds, or whatever else you brought.

(thanks Starleen for the many uses of your sketchup HF trailer.)
