http://www.peterwhitecycles.com/schmidt.asp Interesting but unless you will be doing long distance cycling at night you are better of with rechargeable batteries and a good LED light. You would have to have a wheel built and there is drag, the power is not free.

I was thinking of using a small battery for when not moving as for power I'm not to worried but thanks for the concern I actually want tonot use the tires on a bicycle but rather a canine pulled cart

They don't really seem to work until 10-12 mph or so...

Your doggies will have to be hoofing it pretty good...

And as Shadowcatcher said there is noticeable, constant, drag.

Which is a real drag.

I assume you intend to power lights. I'd stick with LEDs powered by a battery personally.

my idea is to stick two of them onto a cart and have them charge up a small battery so I can run marker lights and possibly a headlight and charging an ipod would be nice so for battery I was thinking of one for a childs electric scooter
