We haven't stopped camping yet. Well we didn't do any camping in January (it wouldn't stop rainning). But then again, I don't live in Wyoming.

snow birdings fine if your retired and have for todays problem a oil well in your back yard.
slow.

Being retired just means you don't have a job. A fixed income and no cost of living raises. I make the same money today as I did 15 years ago. Do I complain? No, I just do without things so I can enjoy other things and budget as needed. And I have no oil well in my back yard. Heck, I don't even have a tanker truck.

I am so ready for good weather. Last week I got my Teardrop out of storage and cleaned it up and reloaded it. This weekend will be it's first outing of the year. The weather at "Cooler By the Lake" is just that. But I must say that the not so good weather really makes for a close gathering. Everyone stays put and we have a great time. The big fire in the shelter makes it nice. Plus this year we have "Apple Pie" to take the edge off the cold.

Yep! We will! (Have Apple Pie.) This week I overcame my reluctance to walk in to the local liquor store to buy the grain alcohol for the Apple Pie. Our church choir director helped me get over the reluctance by telling me she had bought it to make limoncello. Somehow that put a gloss on it for me.

For some reason, just today the camping bug hit HARD and I can't wait to go. Mark thinks this is rather strange, given the driving rain today. I do want good weather, or even okay weather, but more importantly, I want to GO CAMPING! Is that too much to ask :ilovecamp: :rainy:

Its a little warmer here than you have it Slowcowboy. I've been camping the past two weekends, and have another getaway planned this weekend.

Been getting down to about 30-35 at night, with highs between 40-60. Also had some pretty bad rain storms the past weekends, but this weekend is looking 55-60 and SUNNY!!!

Hope you get some warmer weather soon!

Well Slowcowboy, at least you're not alone. Living here in the Sierras, it still hasn't been above the low 40's. The weather did manage a couple of days into the 50's but there is still a huge pile of snow out there. I was hoping for a light winter so that I can get to building my teardrop but that didn't happen. I'm hoping I can drag the frame out from the pile of snow in a few weeks to get a start. I tell you this cold, drizzly gloomy weather is getting under my skin. I've had a downright nasty attitude as of late :x :x :x . I want to go camping, until I get my TD done, even a tent will do, but like you all I can do is hurry and wait. I'M NOT HAPPY!!! :fb :grouch day1:

the Tear isn't done, but I am camping the next few day for a Metal Meet. (it's a gathering of metal shapers that form "things" out of metal)

I have seen frost every morning this week, but I am too tight for a hotel. I will sleep in the back of the pick-up with the sleeping bag and electric radiant heater (it has a topper).

Will spring ever come??? No. We will go from 40's and 50's to the 90's with high humidity and temps.

It's been warm enough to camp around here. It just hasn't been dry enough. There have only been a couple of days this month with no rain or snow. I've even had a couple of ducks hanging around my yard the last few days. There is talk of snow tomorrow. Time to buy a couple more tarps for the outing this weekend.

I live at 1000 feet elevation, and we are supposed to get snow, again, tonight and tomorrow. I'm glad I have lots of firewood left!

I retired 3 weeks ago, and was hoping to hitch up the teardrop and head to a spot to watch ships go by, but if the weather is bad here, it would be worse there. We have had a very stormy month, although the sun is out now. So, I better get out and continue the work for next winter. I've got more firewood to stack for it. That's a good thing.

The teardrop continues to be parked in the shop where the platform behind the hitch is used as a feeding platform for the shop cat.

Slo, Had to laugh on this one! I consider our camping season in central Texas to be over in May; it just feels too hot and steamy at night to camp without AC! Having lived in Colorado, though, I know that feeling of just being so ready for the winter to end!

It is a bit of an odd spring, and we have had temps to almost 100 degrees last week, which is not normal. HOWEVER, we woke up this morning to an overcast sky, temps in the 50s and a brisk north wind, with a high of only 60 forecast for the day.
For today, the high in Austin, TX and the high for Riverton, WY are the same. How is that for a crazy crazy springtime world?
