neat but it seems that leaving the trailer attached woulda added unneccesary weight and drag. Still pretty cool to say the least.

I like it. But it does seem to ride real low in the water. The door was a little to close to the water line.

But a neat idea. Way lay-back crusing.

Canals are usually pretty calm so I can see how they'd get away with the low door and such. Not unlike pics of house/canal boats I've seen.

I love that the first priority once they're underway is to put the kettle on for tea--very British.

Ah, that's a prototype Caraboat. Later production versions got more refined like this:



As you might imagine, there is an online Caraboat Club.

And my sister still has the exact same set of dark blue melamine crockery that appears in that clip - my parents had a set on their boats back in the 1960s!

I like the idea of leaving the trailer attached. I had thought of doing the same thing with a houseboat made of barrels that I planned to use more as a stationary cabin on the lake rather than as a motor boat. As long as it is fresh water rust shouldn't be too bad.

While I love the concept I don't like the controls in the back. Sure would be nice to own one with enough power to take itself to the water too...
