Solar Heat

Postby Ned B » Wed Apr 27, 2011 9:50 am

Hi gang,
A friend of mine is building a new home, and I suggested to her that she look into incorporating a passive solar system into her home. Then I thought, hey... I bet that the TD community might want to incorporate some of the same ideas. I realize that a TD or TTT is basically one Big solar collector, but adding or incorporating a passive solar syphon into the sides of the TD would help for cooler weather camping.
Here's one add on design which could be added on as needed:[url]

and the overall passive solar page:

You grabbed alittle to much for your link to work. Here is a working link.

Good idea to keep it warm during the day. Maybe a small computer fan added to it powered by a small solar panel would help to push the air inside the TD.

Now if only we could get the sun to shine at night.

I can almost always count on a 20 - 30 degree gain inside Chubby on a bright sunny day thanks to his lexan roof. 80 degree day last summer the inside thermometer was pegged at 120.

Now you know why we camp in "Barn to be wild" in the summer.
