Seems like Mother Nature's a little PO'd ... Must have been all that plastic we dumped in her oceans ... Gotta' be nice to Mother if we want her to be nice to us ... Not like we can just go somewhere else ... :o

Glad everyone here is SAFE !!! :worship:

We are OK in Brandon, the closest tornado touched down in the city of Terry about 15 miles away, lifted and passed to the south of us.

Hope all our Teardrop folks have been spared. It's tragic, but a part of life here in the SE.

This was posted in another thread - because of the circumstance - i posted it here:

jan4peace wrote:Everybody,

Thank you for the prayers and the well wishes and the song (Glenn) ! Y'all are kind! I hope none of you have any damage....I saw it was headed up the East Coast possibly. ?

The prayers worked...I have family scattered all over this area and no one was hurt. :worship: Many had damage on their homes, but that can be rebuilt. Our place is fine, but the powers out and will be for a bit...that's ok with me. We are alive and that;s all that matters. We have a generator which we are using here and there when needed and that's enough.

Could I ask you to pray for the people of Tuscaloosa (and all of Alabama). :worship: Much of the cty looks like a warzone. My family was spared, but so many were not. It is a good town....good people...it just breaks my heart to see it like this.

Just glad to be here :) I can't stay long...we've got to give the generator a break.

;)

the extreme weather is being caused by a record breaking cold over the north pole and warmer water in the Pacific, the two extremes cause the extra energy in the atmosphere. If the earth ever does warm up from "global warming" expect milder weather as the larger differences in temp between the pole and the equator won't be there .
praying for safety for those of you who live where it gets hot enough to produce this kind of extreme weather, and glad I live where the worst I can expect is many feet of snow and a few hours with no power a year

I've been worried about dakotamouse. She posted about the flooding in Bismarck ND, but I haven't seen a post since. They are really getting hit by water out that way.

60 seconds of straight line winds here, tore up an elementary school in the town I work in. The teacher got the kids in summer school to safety in time.

We had four tornadoes in Louisville, Ky last Wednesday. We were playing cards about two miles from historic Churchill Downs. They were hit in the barn areas. We had feed bags and roofing shingles raining down in the neighborhood. Oh, and by the way, our poker group had to cancell the rest of the night due to power outages.
