Ah, come on now. The burgers are fried rather than grilled. The french fries are cooked at just one temperature rather than cooked at a low temperature to get them cooked inside and then flash fried to crisp the outside. Fresh yes, good no (IMHO).
I've always found that a burger house that has "char broiled" on their sign puts out a much better burger.
I can pass by the numerous In and Out stores here with no problem.
But if they work for you, great.
I've found that ground sirloin cooked on a profane grill has a far superior flavor. If you are diligent, keep all the fixen's in stock, you can make a better burger in far less time than it takes to go to an In and Out Burger house. Not quite as convenient though.
Everything in life is a compromise.
