On Day #1 of our fishing trip my daughter and I caught our limts of trout:

On the second day, my daughter (11 years old) caught her limit, my limit and her mother's limit:  :o

Oh yea, and the pole carrier worked very well. No problems with carrying it on the roof rack and getting the poles in and out of the carrier. I'll be taking the carrier across country to Maryland on vacation.

:o :envious: :baby: Your daughter must not like to eat fish. I swear they hate me.............

Good job on the pole carrier. A suggestion---you might cut a band off a cap and slide it on before the end cap to keep the thing together. No glues needed then. 8)

yup i thought that threw a couple years ago and while you can get pvc pipe big enough to take the reel and all,,,, it would be cheaper to just buy a new fishing rig when you get where your going!

best i could come up with was pvc pipe for the rod. attached to a plastic ammo can shapped box for the reel. bolted on with a pvc floor flange to the box. the box i found had the opening on the end and was deeper then it was tall. so the rod goes in straight from the end.

i only use it for my one piece rod. its just simpler to break down any two or three piece rod.

I like it! What if you made a second separate tube just for the reel? A few inches long, maybe some foam in the caps to keep it from flopping in the breeze, also slotted...

Hmmm...
