Thank you for the blessing. It has been a tough row to hoe for us but my Pop would want us to move on, and so we will.

CT dual use coming up soon. I need to take everything out of the CT and haul the empty trailer to Mom's house in Lake Tahoe, CA. to load it up with a freezer and other stuff destined for my Daughter in Napa CA. then return to Tahoe to pick up Pop's tools to haul them back to Boise to catalog and photograph them and list on Craigslist to sell for Mom.

Don , when my Father in law passed away ,he left us 2 houses full of stuff, we gave away/donated a ton of stuff to people in need , and then had to rent U Haul trucks to transport the rest from Texas ... At least you have a CT to do the hauling ... That's very handy !!! Please have a safe trip !!!!

Truly sorry that I have been occupied with family business for too long. I need to get back to my CT conversion, something I can do considering this past Friday (April 29th, 2011) was my last day at work. I am now officially retired. My time is my own from that day forward.

Have to help my Mom in Tahoe but then will be back to finish my CT conversion here. Lots of changes are in order for the CT with consideration to our original plans for it.

Thank you Pete, and I too am sorry for the passing of your mother. That's one valuable lesson I have learned and that of being thankful that my mother is still among us. I hope she is for many more years to come. She's a spire old gal, and feisty ta boot! She drives a bright red 74 Mercedes 450 SL convertible. God bless her!

I actually went out and opened the CT today to get our picnic basket out. We took the wife's (Christi) Mom and Dad out for a picnic. The weather was gorgeous (mid to upper 60's and beautiful sunshine). The first truly nice day we have had so far this spring... a spring that hasn't sprung for us here in Boise until today.

Opening the CT makes me all the more anxious to get back in there and get going on finishing our conversion. While showing the in-laws our CT conversion (they had not seen it since when we first bought it as an empty CT) and they reminded me of how much progress we have made. I got to thinking about it and we have made significant progress even though I feel like I have been stuck at nothing over the winter. More to go but I guess I need to take time to appreciate what we have accomplished. The tough work is done so we're actually in the home stretch of final finishing inside.

Good Lord we are chomping at the bit to get out camping again!

What I failed to mention was that the Friday before our Sunday picnic, the morning I got up to go into work for the last time, it was snowing!!!

On another note, and back to actual CT building, you've seen the photos of the forward galley area as it now exists in our CT. I need to build/enclose that area with some cabinet doors that will surround the reefer. Any thoughts on where to get such cabinet doors? My woodworking skills are not that great but I can do OK in a pinch. I'd like something to cover the opening below the galley top shelf and down to the floor but don't want it to look too homemade. Any thoughts (from anyone) are appreciated.

Three days into retirement and I am finding out exactly what you mean. I asked Christi to make a list of things around the house she'd like me to get done and put the list on the kitchen reefer... maybe that wasn't such a good idea. Our reefer is 6' tall and the list is now approaching top to bottom.

Recycling comes to mind...

1. How about cutting up some Cabinet Doors got on the cheap at some Home Habitat-type place?

2. Sometimes, I drive by some Remo in progress, and used Cabs are Curbside.

3. A 'skinny'-type Pantry Door might be found on the cheap/free. Cut that up.

In-fill 'Trim' doesn't have to be symmetrical or conventional. Perhaps something like a 1 x 6 can fill out the difference when recycling Doors.

Snow to beat the Band here at >9,050' in N. CO.. There's still 3' drifts on the shady side of the House. Unreal. Snowpacks are ~150% of historical average, so watchout come runoff time.

Definitely has to be global cooling causing all that water to evaporate and then fall as snow in colder places. I believe it. Heard it on Pat Robertson this morning (700 Club). We're in the last days. Watch out for libral conspiracies about the waether.
