 I see you are worried about the size and I meant a double post. Like as in start a separate build thread for the cute lil foamy! It really is cute!

Hey GPW,

Glad that you are getting your foamie put together. I've only been on line a bit last couple of days and almost couldn't find this thread! I hope to have time to update my build thread ( I almost couldn't find that either LOL) tomorrow night. I'll be watching your build. FYI, My random orbit sander was very quick and effective at rounding the edges. I used a coarse sanding sponge to do the final shaping. I did have to use a light touch to avoid digging in.

just when i thought it was safe to turn the puter off last evening, you all chatted away!

sure mike, if you need someone to help out with putting things in the proper places and stuff. i know that will take a bit of time. and heck i can't do anything more on mine yet. so i have nothing but time. well that is if no one else minds.

gpw, we had 2 pieces on top of the tear that was not completely connected. hubby just filled it with cauk? remember, the strenght is in the skin. (like i had to tell you that  ) but once covered and sealed, no water is going to be seeping in.

trailers?

i ended up with a couple of dings in my new shape yesterday, but i am so not worried about it. the foam is basically just to hold the shape, once covered you are good to go.

but gpw, i love the idea of a cupcake! not too manly, but it would be a cute theme for a tiny tt/td.

Eagle, here' a trick I use with my Foamie airplanes ... Try pouring boiling water (carefully, don't burn yourself)  on the dents ... they pop right back out ...

what i was talking about is more like cuts into the foam, but this is good to know, as i do have a few dents also.

what is on today agenda?

tomorrow is payday, not sure what direction i will go. i can only do 1 thing at a time. so not sure i will buy more foam, or get those cinder blocks, or get the floor wood. i sure wished i did not have bills to pay. or maybe i just need to stash that little extra money away for the july's trip to indiana.

i only found it because i get the email notifications of new posts to the thread. then i come here read and the go to main board and click new posts. i would have been lost if i came here first.

you know i thought that a foamie would be a foamie would be a foamie. but even foamies take on a world of their own. there will never be 2 foamies alike, nor will their building process. i see a couple different ways of doing things already. some basic stuff is the same, but you have that with woodies also.

thanks again gpw for starting this!!!!!!!!!! i never thought i would have a tear i could pull with my hhr and not have to spend a ton of money on. and i certaintly never thought i could build one myself. i have been attempting this for a couple years. i even made a thread to start a build last year, but it just never came about. this was perfect for me, and i really hope it gives others hope that it can be done, especially when you don't have the tow capacity for woodies.

Eagle

For some reason getting notifications for me is a hit and miss deal. I didn't get any yesterday for this thread and only one for the others I am watching. Usually the past week I have at least 6 for this thread waiting when I get home from work.

One has come in this morning for this thread this morning.

Randy

edit: oops three more came in while I was typing that.

ok now that is looking good! it does remind me of a salt block after the ponies have licked the edges.

do you have your canvas? is canvas what you will use?

you know way back in the beginning of this thread i think you posted about a netting that was/is bear proof? i was thinking that you could put that netting under the canvas, would add a layer of protection against the bear.

i am going to search for that post now.
