General Discussion about almost anything Teardrop or camping related

Postby dh » Wed May 11, 2011 9:57 pm

There is a campground I like that has non gender specific bathrooms. The bath house has 4 rooms, each has its own toilet and shower and its own exterior door. I have to admit, we will go in together and do what we do at home, I shave and brush my teeth while she showers, I shower while she does whatever it is women do in front of the mirror, we get dressed and go on our way. I never really thought that anybody would consider we were doing the nasty in there.

All I can say is that when I was younger, well enough said about the public stuff . Now if you have ever tried to do anything in a pop up, all I can say is combined weight of 500#'s on plywood supported by thin metal, in the air and you suddenly here crack!! Suddenly you have full moons over GA and SC!! That was not us but the couple in the old pop up next to us when we were camping in SC at a Army Corp park at Lake Hartwell last 4th of July. I just couldn't stop laughing for ten mibutes it seemed and then when the couple came back out clothed I offered to help repair the pop up with the guy.

I try to keep it in the teardrop or at least out of sight. Being seen is not part of the fun, especially when there are small farm animals involved :moom walk:

I wonder if the Florida legislature knows about this problem. They have apparently (in an attempt to draft legislation regarding bestiality), outlawed sex with animals. They're getting flak because, of course, people are animals...so (depending on how you define animals) they may have outlawed sex entirely. I think this type of forward-thinking legislation, regardless of whether it was motivated by campground skankiness, could solve the problem ;)

I had a vintage pop up trailer and sometimes I wished I kept it. It had lots of room and helped my prayer life. Everytime I drove miles to camp I would pray none cables to raise the top would snap. :worship: :worship:

lol Ive been in the SCA long enough and have done lots of camping that the most important thing I bring with me is ear plugs for sleeping lol. Canvas walls ( and trailer walls ) are thin, most people turn up the music to drown out whats going on inside, and well after 2 am things can get a little frisky around the bon fire. Im hopein the 1" of foam will muffle what goes on in my vardo lol. I just got 4 of those camper stabilizing jacks to keep it from movin much on me since I toss and turn and am about 250lbs now lol.

People are people and when you add alcohal into the equation all kinds of weard things do happen.... as long as it happens late at night after the kids are out of site I dont really care.... but if I see ya's goin at it expect some comments as i walk by and I can be very sarcastic lol

What's "nasty" about it. None of us would be here w/o other's doing it.

As this legislation clearly demonstrates, more legislation/government intervention typically doesn't solve a thing, usually makes things "worser", more complicated, and requires more useless government "poges" to be employed to accomplish exactly nothing worthwhile.

For a definition of poge see: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=poge

I wasn't going to post until I saw your post, but we too have done the double-up shower routine.

Thanks! I've been back a few months but doing more reading than posting...catching up.

Thanks, good to be back. I posted a "we give up" update on my build thread a few months ago...lol.

Completely different situation. Lots of couples do this. The ones who posted on the other forum were in a gender specific shower and were being very vocal - loud enough that other campers could hear and reported them.

I posted a link to the thread in one of my earlier posts.

In the overall scheme of things, I don't think it is a very popular sport when you add the total number of people that are in the outdoors. I have never seen anything more than kissing couple's, hand holding, etc. That is it. And, I have been camping for over 45 years. Then, gee maybe I camp in the wrong places.

My only experience was with two young couples in a neighboring site. One couple retired early to their tent, and with the light on inside began some "questionable" activities, with a full shadow show for the campground. No more than a minute or two into the show, the other couple explained their error and the light went out.

I have never experienced any inappropriate behavior in my 50 odd years of camping.
