i had that problem once or twice also, where i did not get the notification. but i am glad you found us.

i don't know what i was thinking about that netting. it was only a camo mesh netting. certaintly not bear proof. hmm i must have dreamt about that part.

To make it bear, theft, vandal proof. Embed electric fence wire in it and hook up an electric fence charger.

And some remote thing to turn it off and on.

Eagle , as you know , I went through a whole Lot of ideas, before coming up with this ... :o So Glad it's working for others too !!!
Also thank Katrina, cause' if I didn't have to EVAC for 6 weeks , I might have never discovered this Forum ... and my new found Love for All trailers tiny ... :D

Having towed my 4000 lb. 20' TT with my Silverado (6 cyl.) .. probably won't even notice this one ... like towing a feather ...
As far as Thrifty , still only have about 75 USD invested ... just glues and the ply floor , everything was either Leftovers or donated to the "cause".. (Foam)
I've yet to check one of those "Habitat" stores ... Bet there's some good Thrifty materials there just waiting to be turned into a Foamie ' ...

Ps. Just another note of interest ... tried a sample of bead board foam with cloth and T2.. Sticks like CRAZY to this stuff ... must be the glue sinks in amongst the beads... So if that's all you can get , just use a thicker bead board ...twice as thick should do .. pretty inexpensive ... but usable ... and the insulation factor should be incredible ... :D

I was wondering if some of the topics that has been discussed inside this thread could be broken out into their own threads to make it easier to find. And for people new to this can see them much easier.

For instance the bit about kerfing the foam for curves.

Also for glues, T2/T3, GG, construction glue and such.

Could the people that brought those up start a new thread for us?

Randy

Camo net is pretty tuff stuff ... just not Bear proof ... but being camo , maybe the bears won't notice it ...???
Kevlar is more like it ... just not Thrifty... at all ... :o
Maybe better to throw out an open bag of Chips Ahoy a mile down the trail , bears will smell that for miles and leave you alone .. until they eat all the cookies , and take a nap...

Wolf , great idea!!! ... this thread has gotten TOO BIG ... unless you've had a speed reading course... ;)

Eagle , it does sorta' have that "licked " look to it with the rounded edges ... just thought it would be more aerodynamic like that ..every little bit helps ...

i was thinking of making a couple of sticky's, for the glue(s), the kerfing, and type of foam's etc?

what do you all think? any other ideas?

we can break out the posts from gpw and make them into a build thread also.

this break down will make it so much easier to find answers to those questions, ie, how do i make that hatch. with or without wood support.

is t2 waterproof, why t2 over t3 etc, you get the idea.

oh what about the coverings. what type of materials.

Speaking of glues... some of the craft glues are made specifically to bond Foam to other materials ... Here's one http://www.beaconadhesives.com/cgcraft-foam2.html Supposedly available at Michael's.. Wonder if the company sells it by the gallon ??? May have to send than an e-mail ... Just another idea , instead of GG ... supposedly can be thinned and used as a contact cement too ...
Crafters glue prices are TOO High !!!

Eagle , so little time , so much to talk about !!! :o Do what you think is right ... How about an outline first , of specific questions arising about the build construction ? That way you could condense the relevant information into a small space... Much appreciated by the readers , and the Boss who provides (and has to pay for ) this space ...

Pat G used some foam construction adhesive in his build. that looks interesting to me.

Well off to work. How many pages will this grow while I am gone?

i remember when i was starting to look at the foam at lowes, and i asked the guy if gg and t2 would eat the foam and he said yes. LOL i did not buy it then. but came back and read more on here, then i took the jump and well the rest is history. that stuff does not eat the foam.

gpw, what are you covering yours with? (did you already answer that and i missed it?)

Eagle , I've had some nice linen canvas , been stored a while around here never got a chance to paint on it ... Maybe after I glue it to the trailer , might be motivated to do so ... (like cupcakes, only decorated after the baking's done ) :D

Some of those guys at HD/Loew's are Idiots ... dealt with them in the past ... I now only assume they know where it is .... maybe ...

ok since i can make topics sticky's i have started. so bare with me, this will take a while. it will not happen overnight.

i know how to copy and paste, but i don't know how to add who posted what, so not sure if we need that or not. but for the sticky part we really only want the info right?
