Well, I've decided to take out the bulkhead/sliding door and replace it with a full bulkhead. I will move the bulkhead forward two inches to gain some precious room in the ramp area. Current intentions are to install a shower, water heater, and window AC. Lessons learned from last year.

Here is how I plan on framing the aft bulkhead. Opening is for window AC.

I installed the air conditioner bulkhead framing with a slight modification. 2 x 3 to save weight. 3/8 AC ply to be installed on inside.

aft bulkhead

Here is a pic looking aft. Looks like the camera distorted some of the angles a bit. And that is the shower pan in the lower right.

bulkhead/roof joint

Postby Jeffmo63 » Sun May 08, 2011 10:00 pm

The bulkhead and roof joint was challenging to cut and fit, but I think it turned out better than I could have hoped.

I installed a 5K BTU AC in the bulkhead after some re-framing.

:applause:  :applause:

Very nice job on the A/C installation as well as the rest of your cargo trailer conversion.

Thanks Tom, I'm just taking it one project at a time and hoping for the best.

I have to agree with Aggie, it is coming along nicely. Is that an angled countertop in your plan?

Yes it is. The text didn't come out too well in the drawing. More than likely it will be some 1/2 ply with a formica covering. There is a 12v Norcold refer/freezer already installed but the counter itself is not. A 12v flatscreen TV/DVD is in the works for the front bulkhead although I'm not sure if that luxury is neccesary. Thanks for all the kind comments.

Shower walls

Postby Jeffmo63 » Mon May 23, 2011 7:16 pm

Today I walled in the shower with 2 x 3. The pan fits nice and tidy. Next is some good primer followed by FRP sheet.

Jeff,

The shower pan looks good. Can you say if it is 30" x 30" or 36" x 36"? We're looking at having a shower in a future standy project.

Take care,
Tom

Thanks Tom, sorry I didn't have the picture attached. Actually the pan is 24 x 24. A little tight but I don't have a ton of room. I bought it from Dyers RV and am very staisfied with thier products and service. The pan itself is very high quality and well made. If you want I can put a few more pics in my album so you can see how it constructed.
