The interest in a teardrop is amazing.

Maybe it has to do with being full of rabbits, but Ann keeps getting a half dozen people coming over to look at the trailer whenever she stops at a truckstop. Women look at the bunnies, the men look at the trailer. A number of people said they would like to build one themselves.

She met one lady around El Paso that is here on the forum. Didn't get the name. A guy in Sacramento was also a forum member, and was planning on building a trailer.

Kinda cool how small the world is, sometimes.

I posted previously about the trailer. It seems to be holding up after the first 4,000 miles of this trip.

Its a rare breed of rabbits that has pockets of genetics in the east, Midwest and west. The goal is to mix up these genetics. So... pick up rabbits in the east/Midwest, travel to the west to drop them off/pick up western rabbits, and then head east to distribute.

It was supposed to be a 2,400 mile eastern loop, and then hand off to someone else for the western loop. A week or more later, pick up the rabbits from the western loop, and re-run the eastern loop. Unfortunately, the person driving the western loop bailed, and since the Jetta and teardrop get such good mileage, guess who gets to do the whole route? She's 4,000 or so miles into the 6,400 miles of the first half.

If you discount the 22 miles I drove it to where it was packed for the trip, this is its road test.

Ahhh... no. Ann is the GF, and she is interested in this particular breed of rabbits so she volunteered to drive the route for them. I was given the option of fixing her 1995 F250 PS, or building a "trailer that won't bounce the rabbits around." I decided a rimple style trailer would be good, and the independent trailing arm suspension with the coil-over shocks would work well. I get to use it when she's done with the trip.

When the trip is done, I get to finish the finishing, if that makes sense. I'll put a layer of Zinzer 123 primer/sealer on the inside. That should take care of any residual reminders of the bunnies. Add a couple layers of latex paint on the inside (enamel on the outside) and it should be good to go. Then I get to make the removable galley for it.

Well, gf should be able to relate to having a certain obsession. And, trust us, your teardrop will be an obsession if it isn't already.

Plus, "remember the tour de buni" would be a good reminder if, for instance, your gf should balk at accompanying you to a gathering.

The bunny info reminds me of the Long Beach City College, where hundreds of rabbits are multiplying all over the campus grounds.
