Teardrop Smells? - Chemically Sensitive looking for a TD!

Hi,

I just recently discovered teardrops. It was love at first sight.

The challenge is that I'm really sensitive to chemical and wood smells. Really, any noticeable smells can be a challenge for me.

So, here are my questions:

-Does your brand new TD smell a lot??
-If you have a teardop that's a few years old, do you notice any smells?
-Are teardrops prone to mildew smells?
-Any other odor-insight would be really helpful.

(It's also tricky to sniff-test teardrops, because I live in Boston, and it doesn't seem like there's much used or new teardrop activity in this part of the country.)

But I remain hopeful and excited about a teardrop!

Wellcome to the madhouse. Tds do smell when first made. Glue ,varnish ect. This in time all goes away. Mildew only if you have a leak then you have a problem. Go to a gathering and smell around

Smell and reactions are subjective and depends if you are allergic or not.
I am sensitive to the finishes and dyes in material. I generally don't have any problems with my tear. Sealing the tear will keep the water out but I found before I insulated the floor, there was some condensation on the underside of the mattress. There are moisture absorption devices you might check out.

You might also check out the fiberglass units. I would have to air out some of those because of the carpet they use which has finishes which I am allergic to.

I am sensitive to smoke, and after a truly disastrous experience at Chain O Lakes (camp fires=smog) started looking at air filters and found a 12V three stage powered filter that should help. This should also help with chemicals etc.
One other suggestion is find a smell you like i.e. cedar and make sure that is the predominant one via wood shavings or construction or what ever you lake using a sented oil or...
