Green Lantern- now with awning!!!

Got the Green Lantern weighed today and it topped the scales at 1160 lbs fully equipped and loaded . I am pleased how it towed and how it turned out - Thanks everyone for the kind comments

Scott the trailer is great ....... you have me thinking again of a trailer the size and layout of The Green Lantern ...... I hope you do not mind ..... I have been playing with it on Sketch-up 8 tonight =)

We finally made the awning for the green lantern - The EasyUp was getting just too heavy to lug around for each trip – so I came up with this – It’s pretty simple set up and can be done by one person. BYW – it rained later that day – so we know it holds up to the wind and rain – the water just rolled off

Hey,

You've got a satellite dish! Just wait, all the you-don't-need-that hecklers will be posting. I just finished installing a Dish Network 311 receiver in the Boxcar and I need a mount for the dish, where did you get the tripod? Also, did you run track on the trailer for the awing? I need one of those too.

So how did you connect it to the trailer? I just ordered a white waterproof canvas tarp with a pocket down the length of the side that goes against my trailer for a .5" pipe conduit and a pair of these to hold the pipe in place http://www.sailrite.com/Head-Rod-Clamp-Awning-Hardware I still need to pick up a pair of poles for this coming weekend cause its lookin like rain for my first trip.

That's the DO stand in stealth mode. You know nobody uses satelite tv in a teardrop.

The awning looks great, especially being hooked to the Green Lantern! Nice job.

Would you mind posting some more construction details? Deryk mentioned the attachment method. Is there some kind of framing for the tarp or is it just tension that keeps it looking like it does in the picture?

The awning is just a simple 10’X 9’ tarp with grommets along the edges – I cut off one long end and sewed a rod pocket down the entire length. I attached an awning rail along the entire door side



to attach all you do is slide in a ¼ rod into the pocket and feed it into the rail. To complete the setup, Coleman 8-Feet Collapsible Tent Poles poke through the grommet holes and It is simple tension that holds it in place by staking down the ropes. It’s a pretty simple set up
