Jeff,

That's good information. I had looked at residential shower pans and thought I could go smaller than the 30" x 30" but didn't know where to look. I'll look for them at RV suppliers online.

Are you going to collect the grey water? Is so are you using an installed tank or a portable tank?

Take care,
Tom

Yes Tom, I intend to collect grey water in a holding tank. I have a 30 gal grey water tank but it turned out to be too wide to fit between the frame rails. So I got a smaller one (21 gal) that I plan on plumbing with RV style fittings. Got a neat shower drain from Dyers that will work very nicely with the pan. Pics to follow.

Thanks, Jeff.

That picture helps me to get my mind around what components go into an RV plumbing system.

Wind turbine

Postby Jeffmo63 » Wed Jul 06, 2011 2:29 pm

After years of wishing and months of tinkering with the mounting system, I finally bought a small wind turbine for my CT. Unfortunately, it was destroyed by a once in a hundred year wind storm 4 hours after I got it put up. When the blades separated, one of them went clean through the roof of the trailer. Pics attached. Sticking to solar this summer!

Ouch Jeff! :o

The turbine blades must have really been spinning fast. Sorry to see the damage. Sounds like you already have a repair plan initiated.

Take care,
Tom

Yeah Tom, I ordered the parts from Pace American today. They were really helpful and I think the prices were reasonable. Thanks for the condolences.

Official

Postby Jeffmo63 » Wed Jul 13, 2011 12:20 am

Well, it's official. I will not be installing a shower this year. It just got too complicated and I want to keep things simple. So I am going to finish up the aft end as nicely as possible for the upcoming Airventure.

Jeff that really sucks about the wind generator's blade damage to the CT.

I use to fly into the EAA Oshkosh Airshow every year
well sometimes we drove our converted Chevy 3/4 ton van along with friends in there vw van and other one in their travel trailer.

I remember when they moved from Rockford to Oshkosk in order to ride the wagon from the campground you had to pick up a rock and put it on the wagon.

I hope you get to go again this year

Jeff,

Very nice job on your AC installation and trim work. I hope to be finishing my AC installation pretty soon.

Take care,
Tom

sheet steel

Postby Jeffmo63 » Sat Jul 16, 2011 8:16 pm

I bent up some sheet steel pieces to fit in the corner between the wall and ceiling (see August 10, 2010). They turned out really nice. Still have to put some holes in the tabs and paint them a contrasting color (probably satin nutmeg). Depart for AirVenture in 6 days.

Postby Jeffmo63 » Mon Jul 18, 2011 3:01 pm

Here are the corner pieces being painted. Note predrilled holes in the tabs. Yep, painted the screw heads also.
