ITG4 approaching Fast

Postby bushido41 » Mon May 30, 2011 8:31 am

Hello Everyone,

ITG 4 is about 14 days away and was wondering who is going. Myself I will be departing for Minden on the 10th of June with a stop at New Orleans for a few days and then ITG4.

So who is coming and is anyone from the South East doing the trip?

Cheers,

Ed

We have registered and reserved a spot. But I am leaning hard on not going as the turn out looks as if 5 trailers so far. I cant justify spending 500 on gas to see 5 trailers.

Who are you talking to? The last I heard, there were 40 pre-registered.

Gage & Dr

Thank you for the reply, I would appreciate very much if Wilbur could corroborate that information, since I have an almost 3500 mile round trip.

Thank you
Ed

Thank you
Looks to me you only have about 1650 miles. That's only about 200 more than me. But then again I'm not doing a round-about trip this year to get there. In 2009 {3rd ITG), it took me 4600 miles to get there (I missed a turn off and ended up in upstate New York). And that was just one way. ;)

Hi All - Really looking forward to ITG4! Minden is only about a 300 mile trip for me.
Gage, You really gotta keep your eyes peeled for those road signs, who knows where you could end up this time :?

BTW- I am sharing a site - do I need to get there early to request electricity? I only need it for overnights and at no other times for health reasons. Who should I call/contact for info?

See you all real soon!! :D :D Jane

Naw, you don't have to get there early if you don't want to. Although, I'm planning on getting there Wednesday. The site will be given out when you get there. Not by Pioneer but by either George or Bill, whoever is working the ITG registration room. We have never had any problems in the past with both units of a shared site having elec. I've always shared a site in the past but not this year because of my breathing problems and the need to be close to the rest rooms. I'm also coming in with the Field and Stream. I guess being part of the staff has its benefits. ;)

Gage,

I got you and please remind me not to follow you on the way out, I don't want to end up in New York also.

Maybe George or Bill could give us an update and put some of this stuff to rest. Then people could be reassured of the turnout.

Why does the turnout mater? I go to gatherings because I want to. I don't care if there are 5 or 55. That's the difference between Western Teardroppers and Eastern Teardroppers, we don't care about numbers but it would be nice if we had about 75 to 100 teardrops there just to justify all the hard work that has been put into the ITG.

Gage, I think the idea is to meet other Teardroppers . You get the opportunity to see how they built or modified their trailers. For me I also want to meet some of the people from the forum that are from other parts of the country. I guess I sort of look at the gatherings as a kind of reunion. If I am spending 500 bucks in gas I want to meet the whole family.

There are some people that very rarely check this website that will show up to ITG. At IRG3 I mentioned something I read on this site and a guy said, "Oh, you are one of those Forum people". I guess I realized then that owning a TD and viewing this website do not have to go hand in hand neccesarily.

I have to assume many people planning to attend will not answer a thread that asks a roll call. Plus, there are about 4-5 different threads on ITG 4 so maybe the response from attendees is a little divided up too.

Anyway, about every teardropper I meet at these events is friendly and are glad to talk trailers, building advice, trips they have taken, etc.

I will be there, but that's easy for me because I live 32 miles from Minden !!!
