Was Time To Say Goodbye...

Postby Time Out » Sun May 29, 2011 6:08 pm

Hello my friends,

I seems that just about every time something very good happens for us, something else very painful happens at the same time too. Our beautiful Little Guy 6-wide was delivered a couple of days ago, then 24 hours later, one of our 3 best friends, Dino (our lovely cats) which is 18 years old, began the process of dying. He has been through a lot, which are stories for some other time, but had been doing very well, suddenly began crying in pain and began having labored breathing, wasn't eating or drinking and began distancing himself from us. He has always been such a lap cat and this behavior was completely different for him. He was in such pain and discomfort that rather than wait until Tuesday for the long weekend to end, we took him to the Emergency Hospital in Visalia, CA. Well, everything was shutting down and we had no alternatives but to say our tearful goodbyes and thank him for all the joy he has given us over the years  .

Here is Dino's picture from April of 2006

I'm not sure if this is the correct way of getting pictures embedded in my messages, but I think you will be able to see a picture of Dino anyway. We miss him so much!

We'll get you all some pictures of our TD when we have had a little time to grieve.

Thank all of you for understanding in our time of sorrow.

Clyde and Linda

I wanna hang a map of the world in my house. Then I'm gonna put pins into all the locations that I've traveled to. But first, I'm gonna have to travel to the top two corners of the map so it won't fall down.

I'm so so sorry you lost your furkid. He was gorgeous! My dear old Wicket and Captn kitties were both black and little lovers. Ratkity was my little psychokitteh, but loved me (a tortishell). Just like your Dino, my little furkids are waiting for me to join them someday. Just thinking about it makes me tear up. Words can't describe your loss, but I'm sure you are keeping your other furkids close.

Today, I am owned by Boss kitty (see avatar). A 3 yr old throw-away that my vet gave a 2nd chance. My heart is wrapped around his little cow-kitteh paw.

Hugs,
Ratkity

I am so sorry for you loss. I feel your pain! That is the hardest thing about having pets is they leave us way to soon.

I'm not normally a "cat person" but that picture shows one very, very handsome cat. What brilliant coloring! I can see why you miss him

Timeout...so sorry to hear of your loss. Having lost my camping buddy 2 years ago, I feel and understand your pain. I still take her pic in the trailer with me when I camp, she's always with me. Doug

I had to put down my dog about a year ago. I still carry her collar in my car.

There is a time and place where we do the best we can. Gretta had a very good life and I was with her at the end.....

And that is the best I could have done.... it was a peaceful good-bye.

Thank you Alfred for posting Dino's picture for me, and many thanks to all of my animal loving friends for your kind words of encouragement during this tough time.

We have another very loving and beautiful Tonkinese cat and a very large and wonderful Maine Coon cat that help with the healing process, but Dino was the Patriarch of the family.

I also feel for each of you that have experienced the loss of a 'close friend' of the furry persuasion. It's true, they just don't live long enough!

Thanks friends,

Clyde (Time Out) and Linda

P.S. My sentiments extend to those that may post after my comments here too.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. It has really hit close to home as I have almost lost one of my furkids this last week. My cat Kitty is currently sick, and still is not out of the woods yet. She has lost a lot of weight and still will not eat much. She is currently taking 2 1/2 pills a day plus vitamins twice a day. She is drinking more water now but still not eating more than a bite of her food. For a while I have had to water the baby food down a little bit and feed her with the syringe. I have been feeding her tuna or baby food about every 2 hours. She goes back to the vet Wednesday. For more blood work. The vet thinks it is either a parasite or leukemia. The Vet and pathologist are leaning more towards it being a parasite.

4 years ago I had to have my cat Peanut put to sleep as he had cancer in his throat, He was 15 yrs old.

Clyde and Linda,
It's so tough to lose our pets. They own a piece of our hearts always. Our big creamy white cross-eyed cat Q-Tip went missing last June, and I still miss him.
Dino was a stunning cat. I've never seen coloring like that. You're in my thoughts.

I am so sorry for your loss Clyde and Linda. I feel your pain. We had to say good bye to one of our pets and it's was years ago, but I still miss that dog. I have her pictures on my facebook page too. God bless you both. :worship:

Clyde and Linda,

I'm sorry to hear of your sweet Dino. My life isn't complete somehow without an animal in it to love and care for. Rizzo is my 14 year old cat, and he's our dear buddy. As hard as it will be to part with him when the day comes, I know he'd want us to rescue another little soul from a shelter, and I know we will.

Rest well, beautiful Dino. You were more special than you know.
