Vintique Door Handles :(

What's up with Vintique 34 Ford door handles?

My TD #1 & 2 the handles were perfect  . They had the DAFU key brand.

My new ones have T6 on the keys and are garbage.

Number 3 TD I've had the locking mechanism go bad in one door in two sets of locks. The whole lock assembly came out on one lock. The pins that lock the door are 1/8" difference so one set is very sloppy so I glued in a spacer. The glue didn't hold so I had to move my stop to keep it engaged. I like my doors to shut with ease and just a click from the lock. The ones with small pins require you to slam the door, not a good thing.

Vintique website is on a perpetual "Under Construction" phase :( .
I noticed CampInn is using them too wonder if they are having the same problems? Danny

Fast forward 11 months
Talked to a tech guy at Vintique yesterday about their locks and he called me back today. I wasn't asking for a replacement just asked if they knew of the problem with their locks and if any old stock was available. He's sending out by UPS two new sets to me and wants the defective ones returned when I've made the swap. Vintique didn't sell them to me but they are the source and wanted to make good on their product. :applause: Hopefully the new locks will last for the long haul as was the case in the past. I've got a set of regular locking door handles coming as back up for the camping season that's fast approaching. Last weekend we camped in the Columbia Gorge at the first annual gathering. With only one locking door it made us a little nervous when stopping for supplies like at COSTCO or a grocery store. We had a great time in the Gorge. It's an absolutely beautiful area :D Danny

It's always nice when manufacturers own up to an issue and make good, without you having to make too big a fuss... Which distributed are you buying those from? I've always liked the look.

Here's hoping the new old looking ones work.

I like the retro look even tho they make some nice new new ones as well.

Yes I agree. That's why I came back to this old post and set the record straight.
I don't remember which distributor I got them from but here's a few listings on Ebay :D Danny
