My niece bought a Utilitoy!

Yes, it is. There's a raised queen bed (she doesn't use it), and a space for another queen at the front. Here's a pic:

Is the Utilitoy actually a "toy hauler" ?

Yes, Dale. It's a toy hauler/utility trailer/camper. No kitchen area, but there are storage cabinets. She has flat screen tv, air conditioner, patio umbrella, and battery options.

That tall maroon-colored item on the right bench seat is the other queen mattress. When made into a bed, it's elevated with storage underneath.

and that door at the foot of the blue bed that the dog is resting on - is that designed to be a cargo door?

I really like the "translucent" skylight style roof, too.

That door is to be used for getting in and out of the trailer when the back doors aren't open, is my understanding, and probably better used when the bed is set up at the back in the elevated position. She is thinking of putting up netting over the back door, I think sliced down the center and overlapping, so she can leave the doors open without bugs.

The roof has a snap-on cover to block the light. You can see where the corner is lifted up. Pretty cool.

You even got me to go to the Utilitoy site to find out more. It's tall enough in the high part for me to stand up in...and under 1000 lbs.

Yeah, I stand up easily. But then again, I'm 5'2".

I guess that little door would be difficult to enter/extit from. Here's a pic of the door from the outside.

Well, proportionally, it looks to be the same size as the side door on a Little Guy style teardrop. So, if you were on the end of the bed, you'd be at what looks like the "sit up and get out, or crawl in" position, same as a regular teardrop.

I'm afraid my oncologists won't ever let me off leash far enough or long enough to go camping on my own again - but it's nice to know that campers like the Utilitoy and the MegaMini are out there for those who aren't able to build their own, or who just want to do the finish work.

So sorry. My mom is in the same boat. She has been my lifelong camping partner, as DH just isn't into camping as much. She's battled different types for 16 years, and lost her own daugther to ovarian cancer 22 years ago when my sis was 39. It's claimed many of my family members and I'm sick, sick, sick of that ugly "C" word.

Hopefully, you'll be back at it in no time.
