Tired of camping in a TD or TTT?

Postby pete42 » Sat Jun 11, 2011 2:52 am

If you grow tired of camping in your TD, CT or TTT you might try this.

Glamping: the cure for the common camping trip

By Rob Lovitt, msnbc.com contributor
Sitting by her tent at the Resort at Paws Up in Greenough, Mont., earlier this week, Ashley MontBlanc
took in a view that stretched from the adjacent Blackfoot River to the peaks of the Bob Marshall Wilderness.
The fact that her campsite came with a butler and camp chef didn’t hurt, either. “
I’ve done quite a bit of camping in my time,â€

I would do this on an African safari - just too much out there that can kill you.

But, I sure hope things like this don't start moving in on the beautiful camping areas in North America.

thats just a stay at a hotel, bed and breakfast, rental cottage, etc...not camping at all

of course, in my opinion, if there is a tv or electricity involved, its not really camping either. I prefer being in the woods as far from other people as possible.

well I have to admit I woldnt mind haveing an air conditioner and a generator sometmes when I go camping. A 3way fridge/cooler wouldnt be so bad either to avoid the ice problem... but the rest of it...nah

The wife considers anything without Room Service as "camping"...

Just FYI... By the time you get a 3 way reefer, you could have bought the best ice chest in the world and about 6 Tons of Ice ... :o
And sadly , the new 3 ways don't last very long and are ridiculously expensive to replace ... and I NEVER heard of an Igloo catching the trailer on fire ... a far too common occurrence on RVs as reported with 3 ways on the RV Forums... :o
There’s no place like Foam !

That does look kindof cool.

I have actually thought of something that would be neat. Lots of campgrounds are catering to the big rigs with longer pull through pads, etc., etc.

I would love to see a campground specifically for the smaller trailers. Perhaps individual pole shelters surrounding a lake with a back room containing a private bathroom and changing room.

You could drive the Tiny Trailer under the shelter and plug in and you'd be done. No need for "creative tarps or shelters.

Obviously the standard campground amenities would be there. Grill, water, electric, sewer.

Maybe too fancy for some, but I think I'd like it.
