The writer is obviously an IDIOT ... or a representative of the RV industry , which is currently in BIG economic trouble , because they make overpriced crap products ...

Now, don't go being so negative. A very few of them manufacture overpriced quality products, as well.

I read the article, and like the majority of people who responded against the article, I found that it was crap. My objection is that it really said nothing. It has been my experience that eHow articles are just text for the sake of text. I often come across eHow articles when I am looking for classic ASP coding tricks. If this were positive with regard to teardrop trailers, then it would read like lazy ad copy.

For writing to actually mean anything, it should be novel, have an impact on the reader and/or be personal. To me, this article was none of the above and it was written in grade 5 English. At least it was grammatically correct.

If there were anecdotes or a unique comparison of other types of camping, it might have had something to offer. The fact that teardop trailers are small is hardly novel.

Was this article posted to eHow or eNotHow? I think the author posted to the wrong web site. At a minimum, he misjudged his audience.

There are a lot of reasons for camping in a TD. Economy might be a factor, but, as many have pointed out, you can do things with a TD that simply are not practical with a 30-foot fifth wheel with slide outs. What you camp in is purely a personal decision. When I buy/build something, I don't compare it to something else that is very different, I compare it to my personal needs/wants.

What it boils down to is using the right tool for the right job. The hammer might feel very comfortable in my hand, may have good balance and swing nicely, and it will probably get the job done. But if I am trying to flush my radiator, I may find a small wrench much more to my liking. (My inner tree hugger also acknowledges that I won't be filling the landfill with broken radiators.)
