This old thread had posts with wind disasters with variouc ezup , first ups etc.

One of the forum members suggested dropping the windward side of the shelter. I would like to report that in my opinion it seem to work. In the 1st picture you see our ez up with the rear (downwind side as high as it will go and the windward side as low as it will go.

I also took time this weekend while tearing down from our fall gathering to get some better shots of how I keep ours on the ground. We had sustained winds in the 20 -25 MPH range all day Friday and most of Sat. Many took theirs down to avoid a calamity and we lost 2 in the wind. Mine just stood there.
