Another Okie here!

Postby markingold » Tue Jun 21, 2011 1:42 pm

Hey everyone! I'm Mark from Muskogee, OK!

I'm so excited about getting into this unique and fun subculture that I knew nothing about until recently. My wife and I have been browsing pictures of TDs for the past few days, and have decided that we must have one!

After spending a weekend in 108* heat, in a tent, on an air mattress...I started looking into the options out there and as I started to see more and more pictures of teardrops, and I got more and more interested. I can't say that I've actually ever seen one in person, but I am going to start asking around to try to find some in the area I can check out first hand.

Everyone on the forum has been so nice so far! I post on an e-cig forum (where I can somewhat speak with authority) so I know what it's like to answer the same old newb questions 100 times.

Welcome to the forum. Its good to have another Oklahoman on board. Personally, I never saw a TD in real life until I finished my own! With all the helpful people and resources on this forum, you'll have your own build done in no time.

Hi and welcome to another Okie TD lover. We live in Catoosa just out of Tulsa and have 3 TD's plus a Little Gypsy Vardo. There are several TD's in the Tulsa area and any one of us would love to show you our TD. A few weeks ago we camped at Natural Falls over by West Siloam. Wish you had known about it and could have come over and looked and got acquaninted. Looking forward to meeting another TD wanna be owner.

Hi and Welcome from another noobie here. I'm not a TD builder, but I am working on a tiny travel trailer.

Here's the route I'm going:

http://tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?t=44671

Just getting started on the project and with the heat we're having now I think it's going to be a strictly weekend morning project until it cools down a little. But I'll get there, I'm taking a trip to Palo Duro Canyon State Part in Texas for my birthday in late October and the trailer IS going with me.

Take Care, Guy

Welcome to the forum. We're not that far away if you'd like to take a look. Our trailer is narrow for your needs, but plenty long. It would still give you an idea.

Welcome Matt !!! this is an awesome forum , and some GREAT camping friends! My best advice is for you to see a true teardrop in person... pick up the tongue, lay inside , lift the hatch...

I live near Oklahoma City, but *might* be going up to MO in late July and definitely thinking of somewhere around Tenkiller or Dam camping for Labor Day.

Welcome to the forum Matt. I'm a little east of you at the state line on I-40 in Arkansas. Sounds like you are ready to get started in your adventure and fun camping with the group. You have plenty of people near to help out it you need questions or a look and see how someone else did it.
