Getting ready to buy the mattress soon - Finally at that point in the build. Anyone know of any deals out there on foam or mattress or is the Walmart 4" topper still the best deal for something new?

Thanks!

AL.

This is were I plan on ordering my mattress from, good prices and choice, will probably go with memory foam mattress 80 X 54 inches. Many choices and options to choose from, has anyone ordered from them?

Foam

This place has conventional foam for mattresses, cut to order, decent prices, too. http://www.thefoamfactory.com Looks like it would be about $150, more or less.

We have some local foam shops, haven't checked them out yet.

The Walmart memory foam topper also seems like a good option.

Since I also camp alone, lonely, cold, I plan to use my twin air mattress (which is as comfy as any expensive mattress I've ever had), and then throw the dog's bed next to mine. I don't want a mattress that takes up the entire interior because she would be all over it and I'm not sharing a mattress with a dog! Even if I have to remain alone, lonely, cold![/i]

We found 3" high density foam in 54" pieces (X 24") on the web somewhere and bought 4 of them to use for seat cushions, backs, and convert into a full size bed.

Hey Alfred, Thank you for sharing the link to the Foam Factory. Their prices and sizes are perfect for our teardrop; 5 x 54 x 80. Being able to add a cover for $20 is really great too.

Cheers,

Dave

On #1 (4 foot wide) I used 2 walmart flip chairs, fairly comfortable until my butt falls between the crack where the two flip chairs meet, so I usually sleep to one side or the other.
For #2 (40" wide) I bought a air mattress on sale, filled it up and seams confortable, if the air mattress doesn't pan out I think I will go with a truck sleeper mattress (around $100 for a single).
If I could shut my brain off, I could save myself alot of time, money and effort.
