Doug or anyone else.
Where can I get 5' wide Baltic Birch. Just starting my tear and paying close attention! Some of you people make this intimidating. Most of the Tears are fantastic. Miriam :worship:

Don't be intimidated. We're a friendly bunch. 8)

You won't find 5ft wide anything at the big boxes i.e. Lowes or Home Depot. Look in the yellowpages under "lumber" or "plywood". I don't know exactly where you are but, there should be some smaller specialty shops that may be able to help you. Visit them or give them a call, if they don't have it, ask them if they might know who would.

Hi Miriam,

Welcome to the forum.

When I went to my local big box store asking for that baltic birch, then pointed me in the direction of Pontiac Plywood, a speciality plywood store. You might search the yellow pages, or the web for a specialty plywood store near you.

What are you building anyways?

Miriam, welcome to our cozy little board...don't be intimidated, we only bite at gatherings :D ;) In addition to the above mentioned sources you might also try some of your local cabinet shops...we have a cab shop around the corner form us and they stock all manner of items that are totally unavailable at the big box stores...while cab shops don''t generally sell to the public, they have these items on hand for their own jobs and usually don't mind selling a little of their stock off...the shop we use will also order specialty items for us to be included with their regular orders, saving us some shipping costs...they have been an invaluable resource for us...oh yeah...we luv pictures here...pics of your plans, build, dog, kids, neighbors, cars, etc...you get the pic ;) so we hope to see some from you soon
