Hi, welcome.
I have a suggestion, make a benby or a cubroy.

Our first teardrop build was a Cubby, and the second was a Benroy. The Benroy profile offers a lot more usable space, especially in the galley area. Your wife will appreciate that..... It also makes it easier sitting up inside and leaning back against the headboard of the bed.

Either way you go, just don't overbuild the cabinets on the inside. It's one of the things we didn't like after we finished the Cubby... they just took up too much room. They were too low and they came out too far. It was way more space than we need and would have made the cabin feel much larger if they had been smaller.... especially in a 4x8.

There are pictures of both in our album... or you can see them at our web site.

Our third, shown below, is a 5x10 Modernistic profile, and the silver one is an original 1947 4x10 Modernistic Cub Sportsman.

Hope this helps,
Mark and Pat

I guess you could call mine a cross between a cubby and a benroy. I bought the kuffel kreek cubby manual but I tweak it because I wanted more useable space in the galley.

I used both sets of plans to learn the theory of the builds. Then I just changed the profile to one I liked and built from there.
