New UK Build

Postby kooky1976 » Wed Jul 06, 2011 2:58 am

Hi everyone,

Thought I'd put my pics to date up for the tear I'm building. This is my first build and I'm finding I'm over engineering it althought the weight isn't as much as you might supect.

...pretty cool looking BUT, I gotta admit, it does look severely over engineered(a common problem) and consequently, very heavy(another common problem)...got any idea of weight...thanks for the pics...we do luv 'em...doanchano....................

Cheers. I'm aiming for no more than 600kg. The nose weight is 35kg at present.

So what's the planned tow vehicle?
The Jaguar in the driveway or the Mercedes on the curb?
It's definitely looking nice!

Lol- the Jag used to be bine. I sold it to my Dad. The Merc is mine but I don't think the tear will suit it!

Today I started putting the cupboards together in the galley. Still got to put the doors on and install the cupboards in the sleeping area.

Cheers. I'm going to be building custom fenders and then spraying the whole thing in gloss metallic midnight blue cellulose (following waterproofing and high build primer). Clearcoat on top of that. I'm toying with 2-toning it with a pearl white.
