The Jayco Baja Popup uses pebble side out, and it looks beautiful... ;) ;)

I have decided to go with the pebbled side out. I plan on floating it. Should I tack it in a few spots with adhesive?

It seems in extremely hot weather the frp that has been spot glued get a few bumps and bulges from expansion. I let the chuckwagon free float on the sides trapped by the door trim only and a bit of 100 % silicone at the top where it joins the roof. As to the roof it is screwed down approx every 18" but I drilled an oversized hole and relied on the 100% silicone for weather protection. The silicone will flex and give a bit helping to somewhat control the distortion. This is only in extreme 100 degree F + so it is not a real big problem and it returns to normal without any degradation.

I rolled porch and floor paint in my FRP hatch with no prep, so far it is holding up fine.

My build is 1/8 ply inside, foam insulation and pebble FRP outside. Put the sandwich together with foam safe construction adhesive and a notched trowel. I put the pebble side in because I wanted the smooth finish. I went over the pebbles with the palm sander to rough it up for the adhesive. To give the outside some UV protection, I covered it in adhesive sign vinyl. I used a white glossy finish as a base and am currently working on my graphics to spruce things up. You can see some pics in my album. I haven't posted my finished photos yet but there are several build phots showing my method. So far I am very happy and I experienced a pounding rain on my second camping trip and had zero leaks.

I used FRP pebble side out. Mine is ONLY held down by PL premium construction adhesive to wood ribs. No screws. Its been on the road about 5000 miles on some really washboard roads and has gone through one winter.

As said by others protect yourself. The dust is nasty.
