I have a new red-top Optima battery in my galley. I was told not to worry about gases or other safety issues by the salesperson in the industrial shop, as this battery is gel-type and sealed.
Having read this thread, I am now getting a little concerned with my set-up.
I had a truck and trailer shop install a battery isolator into the car's electrical system and then run 10 ga. positive and negative lines to my trailer via the 7-pole connectors, and then on back to the trailer battery. I have a circuit breaker mounted next to the TV battery and a 30Amp fuse wired into the hot-line right at the trailer battery.
My question was whether I can damage my trailer battery by over-charging it while in tow? Also the galley area only breathes through the roof vent and then only if it is open.
We want to leave first thing Saturday morning, so replies would really be appreciated. Thanks.
