Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Postby 48Rob » Fri Aug 05, 2011 6:36 pm

Mr., Cowboy,

There are a lot of needy people out there that would probably like to have a friend to call on them.

People at the old folks home would be interested in your trailer, in stories about your camping trips, or just stories about the ranch.

If you took a class or two at the local community college, you will meet a lot of other people that are looking to improve their lives.

Maybe if you volunteer to help at a homeless shelter or for kids with special needs, or at church functions, a friend or two will be made.

A wife or potential wife may one day appear, but before you can successfully share your life with another, you must first learn to be happy with yourself.
None of this will come without effort...the key is to enjoy the things you do, to be happy with what you have.
Once you are there, others will appreciate and love you for who you are.

Rob
Waiting for "someday" will leave you on your deathbed wondering why you didn't just rearrange your priorities and enjoy the time you had, instead of waiting for a "better" time to come along...

Dang Rob, I could a saved a lot of money and six hard months of therapy if I had just heard that first. I could have probably bought a camper on the money I saved.

1. Don't listen to Rob! You have too much work as it is.. 8) .Go dancing! Go shopping in the nearest mall.... Go for God's sake to the rodeo! At least you will find a like minded woman there! You need some play time. Oh and go camping in a public campground. You won't find a woman in the woods and if you do RUN! ;)

Or you could move to Detroit. Between dodging the bullets, and fighting the road rage, you might find someone. But then again, there are better places to do that.

just not in the mood this year for the lone wolf stuff.

I "lone wolf" it ALL the time. Except for the dog of course. She'd never forgive me if I left her home. I only know a couple of people who like to camp, and our schedules very rarely work out to where we can camp together. And even then we don't always want to go to the same campgrounds. But I don't mind camping alone. There is always something to do. I walk the dog, catch up on my reading, meet new people, take naps, and just relax. To me that's what camping is all about. And who knows, maybe someday I'll even meet Mr. Right who is out lone wolfing it as well.

...while wilderness camping is great, it sounds like you have had enough of the "high lonesome"...take AuntiM's advice and get yourself to a state park or other public campground and make some new friends...a teardrop is usually an automatic "greeting" card, so, use it as one...if you do, it might do ya well to leave the political rants and oh woe is me stuff back with the combine...imjusayin.................

I suggest you put away the hay fork and git on out to a local campground and see some friends you haven't met yet. That's right on the button, your teardrop is an automatic greeting card, all you have to do is show it.
8) :? ;)  Roly, goin camping myself in the local mountains in 4 more days, ah yes cool mountain air at 5000 ft.

Hey, Slow, I thought you were guarding the corn and scaring the deer away! Is the corn season done already? Find a gathering happening in the near future and get yourself to it!

Cowboy, I was making a play on the movie title ''Children of the Corn'' You wouldn't have to host it in the corn. (Although if you get the right, or should I say wrong, crowd you could probably turn off the cannons, as they would do a better job of repelling deer ALL NIGHT)
