Someone tried to steal my Teardrop Camper this weekend...

We always have the cell phones in the trailer. It could have been an interesting ride and you sure would have made the news.
I have a lock for when the trailer is unhitched but have not yet found one I like for when it is attached, that bolt cutter lock pick thing.

Really suprised that they did not try to take your car as well. As far as the electric fence, I would forget it was there and get the shock intended for the thief. Good reason to have a lock on even when you are parked and hooked up. I like the Beretta Idea as well, but would just hate to put a hole in the wall of the teardrop, in an attempt to stop some thief, would be better to ride it out and wait for them to stop and get a better look at what they just stole. Now that would be much better, less colateral damage and you get to see the last look on their face before you shoot them! Now I know that these statements are pushing the envelope of all the kind hearted, non violent anti gun folks out there that would rather be killed by some thug than kill one, so I will end this post before it gets me in trouble. I too don't believe in the use of a gun unless you really are in deep doo doo. But I would have to agree with Bill on this one. This could have easily been doo doo.

I think they may be what caused me to roll over or say "hush" out loud... I don't remember that part, as the actual "slam" of the door is what brought me to full alertness. Maybe they did make some noise and I said "Hush" before I was fully awake.

So I am new to the camper world and have yet to venture out of the dooryard(still rebuilding). What are the best hitch locks?? Or ANYTHING that would prevent a drive-off??? Thanx, Amanda

I usually travel with Mr.Glock 17 or Mr.Ruger SR9C but sometimes Mr.18 1/2" Mossberg comes along. I belive the Castle Doctrine considers your car or RV your Castle and being pulled around in a trailer would constitute fear for your life.

Look at the bright side......It is a testament to your craftsmanship....your camper looked good enough to steal!

I also fall in with the members here who believe my life (and my family's lives) are more important than some scumbag. I once thwarted a bad situation just by showing the good fellow I was armed. Crackhead dude lost interest amazingly fast. (I was scared to death, but he never saw that)

Also, consider a Wiener dog to add to your pack. Mine barks for ten minutes after a cricket farts.

What the anti gun lobby doesn't want to admit is the fact all the law abiding gun-toten citizens are actually what is keeping America safe!! I thoroughly believe an armed citizenry is the only thing keeping the crazies from taking over!!

That might get you in alot of trouble in California. You know they dont have a 2nd amendment there. Here in Georgia we have what we call "Stand your Ground" law. With my job I spend almost half of every year in California working .... I really think they should get some new officials in SAC. The criminals there have more rights than the citizens.
