Excuse

Postby nrody » Sun Aug 07, 2011 11:32 am

My "Shop" is on my back patio which catches the afternoon sun and it is too hot. My garage is crammed with moms furniture (she is in rest home) about 40 miles away. When I have a day to work on the tear I go see her and that is a half day trek (no I don't mind). The next excuse is I wish I had someone to work with. It gets challenging all by myself. (yes sometimes I have a pity party). Last excuse is I have only the most basic of tools so I have to be very creative.
Time to wash the dog, then go see mom. Maybe go out to dinner with my grandson cause its my birthday.

Just waiting for that to happen when I go into the bathroom.
Getting older is proving to be even stranger than I thought it would be.
I'm still waiting for the acid flash backs they warned everyone about. ;)

Been searching for a link to a you tube video about forgetting things in the off topic section, but I can't find it.
OK I found it, here it is

Here in Dallas, the heat is definitely a valid reason, but that hasn't stopped my crazy self from being out working in it.

My excuse lately is that I am working on something else! Either my house or my car, or my other car, (Or a new camper ... ;) )

But today, my excuse is while putting in the gas tank in my Monte Carlo I found the next of bees that has been chasing me around recently, IN my bumper right where I was working. So I got the hornet spray and had to lay down under the car to get the angle to spray right on the next and they went swarming at me! So I went from lying down to running in one second. Unfortunately, when I jumped up and bolted, the cardboard I was laying on went the other direction and threw my legs into catch up mode, except they didn't catch up. 20 feet of trying to salvage my run down the alley and I knew I as going to bite it so there I went... I was done for the day after this... So that's my excuse LOL

No stings! Hmm so that begs the question. What's worse a bunch of bee stings or skinned knees! haha

Nope, haven't gotten the property yet, still workin on the down payment, but things are lining up nicely to having it within 3 mo and being moved in within 6 mo.

I ran outta gas. I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from outta town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake, a terrible flood, locust's. It wasn't my fault!! I swear to God!!

Yep the 2 biggies are the heat and $$$$.

Only got 6 hours in Sat. and about 3 1/2 hours in Sunday early on my 4x7. I still plan on camping in it at our fall gathering 10/14/11.

Cut in 4 cabinet openings and added a front shelf and installed the cabinet doors. Started on the entry door and the cut out is a bit out of square :x Nothing trim won't hide but I hate it when I find goof up.
Growing older but not up !

I know myself better than that.

I have more excuses than Carter has pills, so I went out and bought my trailer all built up and ready to go. We have been using the heck out of it since I got it.

But now I am working on another build, my 1971 Ford pickup and now I have to come up with excuses for not working on it. Right now, too hot is working pretty well and since I bought my Teardrop, my money is short as well.

excuses.... lets see. It's summer and I am very busy with car shows and family camping on the weekends. Too tired to do much after work, the recliner and 6 pack are in need to prepare for the next day. I spend too much money going to shows, races, and camping. Yes, even tenting gets expensive when you try to keep teens entertained. I bought a paddle boat and needed a way to haul it, so I gave up the proposed tear trailer to haul the boat around. Now i have to build a new trailer for the tear (which is going to be better in the long run anyway).

I really can't wait till the kids go back to school so our lives can slow down. kid #2 is leaving for college next week. That leaves 2 in the nest. When it starts getting dark right after work and the lawn stops growing I will be back in the garage working on the tear. I promise!
