Poor, neglected Thread. :(

It's only 104 at the doghouse right now, I may need to put on a jacket.

Still no rain. A lot of grass is going dormant. Streets are buckling. My driveway is sinking.

I got some steak on sale, so as soon as the sun goes down, I'm going to grill up a ribeye for dinner.

Not much else to say -- not much to do, except stay inside.

Yesterday we went to Rockland, to the Lobster Festival.. We have friends that have a boat docked there.. and they have a party.

There was someone from Texas that had it boat berthed down a couple. When he first got here... he did not like our 101 degree temp...

It has cooled down since... :D

He had quite the boat.. a 65 footer with 2 V-12 diesels in it.. :o

And morning is borne and with us for the day!

Your nation's Capital will be having a wunderful day and all is well where we live. Sun - semi hot and later maybe storms. How do we do that? I don't know!

We had a great weekend - went down to Orange VA area to visit Montipellar - James Monroe' home - a beautiful restoration. Have been going there over the years to see how they transformed the home - modified by the duPonts - and bring it back the 1780 version. Just a site to see...........................

On Saturday I volunteer at the Montgomery County Fair and manage the Home Brew Competition. We had 141 entries and over 60 volunteers (judges and stewards) that tasted and scored each of the beers. We have over 20 beers going to the Best of Show round this weekend. There are truly some really good homebrewers out there.

Well enjoy your day and stay cool.

Well, we only got up to 107 today at the doghouse.

But, everything is turning brown. I'm glad we have a surplus in the HOA bank account, and the tea drinking members of the HOA didn't demand a refund, because we are going to have to replace some green stuff when the drought ends. I am already getting calls and emails abut browning grass in the neighborhood, but I can't make it rain, and I can't break the law. The lakes we get our water from are way down, and the people who distibute the water have to make sure we have enough for the important stuff, like eating, drinking, and bathing. Lawns are not to priority, except for the big SUV driving right wingers who think that as long as they have money in the bank, they should be able to buy all the water they can afford.

Everyone else seems to get it. No rain, no water.

Well Rod, it was very uncomfortable here this weekend, but I managed to eat well -- and I cooked it all myself, so it was mostly healthy.

I had some excellent chicken wings, a great steak, and some smoked meatballs and fried pickles.

It is Tuesday and the sun is arising. That means if you are going to do anything - especially if you need to be outside - do it NOW!!!!!!!!!

The evil ones say we will be having a very nice week Will probably only get into the mid 80's and with chances of t-storms in the afternoon. So it apears we are going back to a normal weather cycle.....

Well - rise and shine and enjoy the day.

Rod.. I do seem to be improving. Some days are quite good. Yet some days.. wow! I end up angry and depressed... I am not sure what that is about. :(
