anybody ever made gull wing doors on a TD?

I was thinking how nice it would be to have the door(s) act as a roof when getting in and out in the rain (it was pouring buckets and I was dreading having to get out into it). From what I figure it would have to be hinged up on top of the roof to have enough height to stand under when open. now I am trying to figure a good way to support it when open(ing).
Planning on an outside privacy curtain, think of a shower ring attached to the side of the TD, that snaps on to a folding bar on each side for each door, gull wing doors would make a nice roof....the shower ring would attach at the top fwd and aft of the door and when stowed would be below the bottom of the door (like a big "U"), the curtain would be those shower curtains like the hotels have that don't use shower curtain rings, just plastic split rongs molded into the fabric.

Search for the Roswell on the forum, I think it was done by Dandan

If ducks had scales, would fish quack?

It is very cool but is not mine. I just remembered seeing it in the hall of fame.

Teardroptimus prime is my brothers trailer. He sometimes regrets going with the gullwings. It is somewhat difficult to close the doors from inside, especially for his wife. Also it takes very strong gas springs to reliably lift the doors and hold them up. They do have their benefits though.

The thing that worries me about gullwing doors is those sharp, square corners that stick out just at head height when they're open.

that is a possible concern, but no more than the galley lid... My brother did his so that they are above head height when open. Won't help if you're a NBA player, but they're probably not teardop camping anyway
