yes i have seen the scale use, but am wondering how you attach cans together. do you have to weld them? of do you drill holes in them?

Eagle , aluminum nails ... we thought of this idea to cover our shed, thought of using staples , but they would rust out quickly ...
Perhaps a dab of that black roofing cement on the bottom part , for adhesion , much like a seal tab roof shingle ... :thinking:

its too hot to be near this computer. our a/c did die. i have been hanging out in the bed reading a book with the fan on me. i want fall weather now!

once it gets a bit cooler i am going back out to work on my foamie. still have to fix the door. then inside is going to have to wait a tad bit more. and i still haven't worked on my galley. but all in good time.

Oh noes Eagle!! I know how it is to live without AC. Just to survive, I have 2 window units in the bedroom when it reaches 100+ outside. One day, I'll have central air and will be able to live in more than 1 room.

Hang in there!

Hugs,

It's finally started to cool down here. It's been right around 26C all week with little humidity. I've been in the shop, but seems that other projects keep getting in the way! Hopefully I'll get some more building time this weekend.

So Hot here now , it's like one of those old movies about the South ... Ma and Pa sitting on the front porch , icy Mint Julep in one hand , old church fan in the other , rocking gently to the rhythm of the crickets and frogs , all to the flickering light of a single Citronella candle ... old victrola playing in the background ... "De Old Folks at Home " .. do dah do dah :lol: :lol: :lol:

Not exactly Foamie building weather , or anything else for that matter ... Can't be the Heat , must be the Humility ... :roll:

we put my camping a/c into the bedroom window. so i am not hanging out in there. i can't take the heat and humidity any longer. and i also refuse to do any house work til it has cooled off. i am ot officially on strike. i have enough books to keep me going for a long, long time.

Hello all, spent three days reading this entire thread and I have to say it's inspired me and my partner to build a Foamie our selves. All we have to do first is finish off our trike, then build a dog/shopping trailer and then get onto building the foamy. It'll possibly be a sort of weekender type style and it'll be a good few months yet before we start, but got at least another year yet before I can drive again , so no hurry.

Thanks for the inspiration you lot.

one thing I've learned with this thread, Anything is possible.
just remember we love pictures
There is a world, just beyond now,
where reality runs a razor thin seam between fact and possibility;

Anywhere I roam where I lay my head is home....
